Excellent customer service and quick follow-up

Our Beagle was suffering from vomiting and stomach pain when we took him in to see his vet. After a general exam, the vet suggested that he stay overnight for multiple blood tests, an x-ray, IV fluids and observation. This was the first time our 2-year old Beagle was ever seriously sick and also the first time he spent the night away from home so as you can imagine we were very stressed out. As soon as I got home from the vets office, I called Healthy Paws since this was the first time I ever had to file an insurance claim. The lady I talked to expressed a true concern over our Beagles health and was able to answer all of my questions regarding the paperwork involved to file my claim and how to submit it, this really helped relieve some of our stress. Dash was released the next day, the vet believes he ate something bad that resulted in his high liver toxin levels. Our vet submitted the claim form along with his medical records and I received a confirmation email from Healthy Paws the next day that his claim had been received. Two days later we got the itemized claim receipt via email so we knew exactly what would be covered. There was no fine print or no hassle over his claim, everything that I expected to get reimbursed I got reimbursed for. I even got a follow-up email from a Healthy Paws representative yesterday just to check in to see how our Beagle was recovering. You truly could not ask for more when it comes to customer service, ease of filing a claim and sp

Thank you Trupanion!

Last year my dog needed TPLO surgery and Trupanion processed the claim quickly amd with no surprises. This year (as is often the case) she needed the other knee done. The claim was processed, along with another smaller claim, in just a few days. Especially like how they email to let you know they received your claim and what the status is. Got the cheques in the mail quickly enough to pay the Visa bill which was great! Thank you Trupanion!

Pet insurance paid off big time

Healthwise, my Chocolate Lab has had a very bad year so far. In May he tore the ACL in his left back leg. Surgery to repair that ran to about $3,600, of which Pet Partners paid about $2,300. Then in September, he ate part of the bed spread; including a piece about 15" * 4". He barfed up part of it, but part was still in his stomach, which required emergency surgery to the tune of about $4,500. Last week I received a check from Pet Parners for $3,000. I would prefer to spend the $60 or so a month for insurance and never have to make a claim. Buying pet insurance has turned out to be one of the smarter decisions I have ever made and Pet Parners really came through for us.

Beware of Trupanion Pet Insurance. Bait and Switch

I purchased Trupanion Pet Insurance after asking a list of questions..One was, Will Rates Increase when my pet ages? I was assured by the Trupanion that rates would never increase as my pet ages. They might have minor rate increases for all members of only 5% every year or two. Not more than that she assured me. Less than a year later Trupanion increased my rates 25%. I called Trupanion that said only people with aging pets would get rate hikes like 25% but many other members did not receive this rate hike. I am angry as Trupanion outright lied to me. Now I have been searching with the words Trupanion Complaints, and there are many Trupanion Pet Insurance Complaints. Trupanion is doing the classic Bait and Switch. Sign on a new pet owner, then when the pet ages a year, raise the rates either 25,50, 75,100, 200% and lie to the pet consumer that the Insurance Board which is paid off by Insurance Lobbyists from corporate greed to increase your insurance rate at any amount they wish, has looked at each and every pet, and lie that vet bills have increased either 25% to 200% because your pet has aged a year. Regardless of how healthy your pet is. The Trupanion Sales Agent do not tell you this when you call, or email them. And it does not state this on their Trupanion website. Beware of buying Trupanion Pet Insurance. The rate is only good for about a year, then they Bait and Switch and will increase your rates 25% to 200% as I have read on numerous complaints when

Not worth the money

I think it great to have pet insurance, especially when you first get a puppy and just to have it just in case something was to happen. I own a bichon frise, and he has gotten sick alot with allergies. ASPCA, only covers certain items and covers 80% of what they think a vet should charge. I found a great vet in my area, but she is pretty pricing, but I feel so comfortable with her. An example, my dog just had a heartworm test, $75, ASPCA, only covered $35, times that my 80%, I recieved $28 refund. I have had this insurance for 2 years, since my dog was 8 months old. I will not be renewing this insurance.
