Claims paid w/o hassle but read the fine print
Had a Premium policy for 7yrs. They pretty much paid all my claims according to my policy w/o any trouble. The clerk at my vet also confirmed that they were one of the companies that were more hassle free. I've been reimbursed for spontaneous pneumothoraic(?), foxtails surgically & non surgically removed, dental extraction due to peridontitis, cysts removed, amputated tip of tail, dental cleanings, flea & heartworm meds, annual exams/vaccines and eye infection. It is important to read the policy thoroughly. Claims MUST be made within 180days and any condition must be deemed cured for a designated time before they will pay for it again. That includes ACL surgery for the opposing leg and possibly cataracts surgery for the other eye. The biggest drawback is that you must pay extra for "Continuing Care" if you want treatment to carryover to the next policy period. Claims processing and reimbursement is slow. They recently upgraded their coverage to be more competitive with Pets Best. A plus is deductibles are annual not per incident.

very satisfied
My 6 yr old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (maglignant bone cancer) of her hind left leg 2 months ago. If it wasn't for the support from trupanion pet insurance I would not have been able to give her the quality of care she is receiving. I will update this post as her treatment progresses.

Love trupanion
Trupanion has been a life saver for us. Our Great Dane Nala has had a lot of little things go wrong over the past year and without Trupanion those little things would really add up. We are so lucky we signed up when we did and it's piece of mind to know that Nala is taken care of.

Does what they say they'll do
We signed on in the Fall of 2011. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased. We do have very comprehensive coverage, including Wellness. For the claims I've needed to submit for our two goldens, everything has gone smoothly and customer service has been terrific. I tell many people about our experiences so far and encourage them to look into Embrace. I also have talked it up with two of my vets. Great job, Embrace!

An excellent investment
Our shelter-adopted, female, toy poodle mix may have ingested something toxic while a stray before being rescued by a kind, pet-loving person and taken to the Hendricks County Animal Control Shelter. We made several medical insurance claims after a pre-surgical blood test before she could be spayed showed elevated ALT liver enzymes, followed by a month of treatment with Denosyl, two subsequent blood tests, an ultrasound of her abdomen, then a liver biopsy taken during her spay surgery. The biopsied tissue was sent to the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Purdue University for histopathologic examination. It was determined that there is "hydropic hepatocellular degeneration" in her liver "that may be the result of hypoxia as well as metabolic or toxic insults." To our relief, this is a mild condition that should not require any further treatment at this time. Trupanion handled all of our claims made for the above situation in a very timely manner and reimbursed us according to the promises made when we enrolled in their pet health insurance program. We have been more than pleased and feel that enrolling our "Princess" with this company has been one of the best investments we've made.

We love Healthy Paws, they are the BEST:-)
My first claim was due to what I thought was a broken or sprained foot while on a walk in the park with Dutchess & Daisy (two very spunky 1 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniels). While on the walk, Dutchess yelped and started to limp; after a trip to the vet, it was determined that she had a luxating patella. The vet recommended surgery to the tune of $2200-2800. I took her to 2 additional vets for second opinions, all with the same diagnoses and similar cost. Thank God for Healthy Paws. They allowed us to make the best treatment decision for Dutchess and she is now on week 4 of recovery and doing well :) My experience with Healthy Paws thus far has been outstanding! After lots of research into which pet insurance would cover the most for my money and reading many pet parent reviews I decided to go with Healthy Paws. I am so thankful I did. They have been awesome. They follow up almost immediately and they even check in on your pet after an illness or injury.
