Strongly Recommend Embrace!
I am extremely happy with Embrace and am so glad I decided to go with them. I like that you're able to choose your own deductible and co-pays (out of choices they give you). Instead of covering a minimum per procedure as most companies seem to do, they cover a percentage. (One company might only cover $800 of Procedure A, but it may cost me $1000 in one place and $1200 somewhere else. Embrace will cover, let's say 90%, so you definitely get more for your money.) I found this much more appealing and advantageous. I've had almost no issue with any of the claims. I don't know what the person who have 3/10 could have had a problem with. A couple of times I forgot to send the correct bill, but was clearly told what I needed to do and everything was taken care of. Their reps are very friendly and helpful, emails are courteous and caring, and I feel as though they truly care. I receive emails of claim notification within 48 hours and checks within a couple of weeks. Cost really varies on the kind of pet you have. I have a neutered, microchipped mixes breed, so it comes to about $50/month, which for my peace of mind is really worth it. He had surgery about a year and a half ago and 90% was covered--I received almost $1000 back. My only regret was that I didn't sign up during the first year I had him. DEFINITELY recommend!

Trupanion has been fantastic!
Our puppy has had more than her fair share of illness in her young life. In the past, my family has never even insured their pets, but when we took her in for her first vet visit, they gave us the 30 day trial with Trupanion and after looking into the policy we decided to go ahead and sign up with them. Thank goodness we did! Unfortunately, we have had to visit the Emergency Vet more times in her young life than I ever did with all of our family pets combined. As unfortunate and stressful as this is, the knowledge that we had Trupanion and our beloved puppy was covered gave us great comfort. Trupanion has processed our claims very quickly and without issue. We are truly grateful for Trupanion and recommend them to everyone we know who owns a pet.

Our 10 month old puppy (Papillon/Pomeranian mix) was diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas and required medial patella luxation (MPL) surgery on both hind legs. Trupanion covered 90% of all the costs involved with his condition, returning thousands of dollars to us within a week of submitting the one-page claim form. I have been paying 22 a month for a year, I took my cat three times for eye problems, they said I had to follow up or I would not be paid, now they are refusing to pay at all because she had problems when she was a baby. Most kittens have eye issues so I think they just want to find an excuse to not pay me Do Not waste your money

Disappointed
This is the first claim in eight years I have made with the ASPCA plan. It is $1,177 for diagnostic xrays, visit and mediation, and two-and-a-half months after I filed it, it still has not been paid. I received an email after a month saying they needed more info from the vet, then another the next week saying they got it. Nothing since then. Called last week and they said they would expedite payment. Nothing yet. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.
