Great Efficient Service
I have always had flawless service with Trupanion. My only complaint is that I wish pet care providers were willing to accept payment directly from Trupanion. The reimbursement format is sometime quite a hinderance to medical assistant for my pet since I am currently a full-time post-graduate student.

NO WAY COULD I RECOMMEND PETS BEST
1/10 NO WAY I COULD RECOMMEND PETS BEST INSURANCE. Again I would not recommend this insurance Company! If you like getting about 1/4 to 1/3% of your out of poctet money for your claim then this is the one for you :-( One Claim was split into 4 claims. We have a $500.00 deductable, they split part of it at $494.00 (just under our deductable)and again 2 more times. The Claim came to over $3,300.00 and counting, with surgeries, med's, over night and folloe-ups. That the short story. To this date we have recover just over $1,500 and change (So our deductble was only $1,800.00, not bad for a Policy with a $500.00 deductable)When it comes time to pay claims, they hold back. NO Customer service also becomes poor when there is a problem. They will not change their mind re: about your payment.

Fantastic
Staff is always on top of letting you know what is going on even if its just a quick email to let you know that they are a bit backlogged with reviewing cases. Staff is quick to email back with answers to any questions you have.

Good service, a few issues
While I appreciate having the insurance for my dog - and I really do - I have some issues. One is the customer service: they're mostly good, but they're also a bit rude. The other, very key issue, I have is their definition of a pre-existing condition. By their definition a pre-existing condition is something that occurred in any billing year that is not this year. So, for example, our dog has epilepsy. Her first seizure was in 2010. She was officially diagnosed in 2011. Because her first seizure was in a previous billing cycle, the epilepsy counts as a pre-existing condition and they won't cover ANYTHING related to the epilepsy - and that includes the daily dose of phenobarbital she takes. I really like what they're doing, and I really hate their idea of what is pre-existing. That said, they're the best pet insurance out there.
