Great company all around

I had Embrace for my dog for over 4 years. He suffered from epilepsy and it was a long tough battle to try to control the seizures. Embrace was awesome and was the only reason we were able to continue to provide the best care for our dog for as long as we did. Every procedure and emergency room visit was covered without question. At one point, we had an MRI and spinal tap performed ($2,500+) and it was covered. It was a huge relief knowing Embrace would not try to find a way to not cover the bills.

Speed of service

I received three emails that processing my claim was running behind. That is fine but don't tell me it will take two weeks if every claim i make is going to make will take 4-5 weeks. This is not the first time. I also work under a two week deadline and hold myself accountable to get the product out to our customers. Kind of question who is accountable at Embrace.

Atopic Dermatitis

My 6 yrs old male golden retriever/poodle cross is insured with trupanion and has had ongoing issues with what has now been dertermined as atopic dermatitis. We have recently started on Atopica and and it is working fantasically. I am very pleased with Dr. Defalque at Canwest animal clinic and with the quick and hospitable claim process with trupanion.

ACL correction & Continuing Care option

Correction: they will only due 1 ACL no matter what. Also, the Continuing Care is only available before age 9yr. Which they didn't mention in their notices and discovered when I called to inquire about it when my dog was 9yrs 1-1/2mos.

Claims paid w/o hassle but read the fine print

Had a Premium policy for 7yrs. They pretty much paid all my claims according to my policy w/o any trouble. The clerk at my vet also confirmed that they were one of the companies that were more hassle free. I've been reimbursed for spontaneous pneumothoraic(?), foxtails surgically & non surgically removed, dental extraction due to peridontitis, cysts removed, amputated tip of tail, dental cleanings, flea & heartworm meds, annual exams/vaccines and eye infection. It is important to read the policy thoroughly. Claims MUST be made within 180days and any condition must be deemed cured for a designated time before they will pay for it again. That includes ACL surgery for the opposing leg and possibly cataracts surgery for the other eye. The biggest drawback is that you must pay extra for "Continuing Care" if you want treatment to carryover to the next policy period. Claims processing and reimbursement is slow. They recently upgraded their coverage to be more competitive with Pets Best. A plus is deductibles are annual not per incident.

very satisfied

My 6 yr old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (maglignant bone cancer) of her hind left leg 2 months ago. If it wasn't for the support from trupanion pet insurance I would not have been able to give her the quality of care she is receiving. I will update this post as her treatment progresses.
