So far ..Embrace takes the cake

My dogs have been relatively healthy so I haven't placed in 'many' claims. From what I have, I have had no issues and always quite pleased with the return.I love that they will pay for alternative methods as I see a holistic vet.

They are the best

Dealing with insurance companies for humans can be a bitter experience and I expected the same with pet insurance. Over the years, I've had lots of pets, but never had pet insurance. I was so lucky to pick Healthy Paws after research, reviews and talking with the co-owner of the company. I signed our kitty, Kato, up, about 4 years ago, and have never regretted this decision. He was a few months old, had a clean bill of health, so everything has been covered, minus office visits, shots, etc., any of the well-being things mentioned in the policy. Kato is not a big cat, and he is neutered, but he defends his territory as if he was a lion; therefore, he gets into some nasty fights. More than once, he has come home from the vets with drainage tubes, stitches, collars and medicines and I have never had a claim denied. I email the claim form in, and within 24 hours I get an email stating my claim is in process and a check is usually in my hand within 4-5 days. I have had nothing but good experience with all the folks at Healthy Paws and there are no extra costs to have coverage for cancer, etc., this is included in the premium. And you can decide what percentage you want reimbursed...this dictates your monthly cost. Make sure you understand the policy and you will avoid any misunderstandings.

Typical Insurance Co, OK but not impressed either

We've had insurance with them for a few years and only had to do a couple claims which were covered partly but was little disappointed in the amount back, and service. They give you textbook answers but I would like to get more covered for the money. Biggest thing I didnt like is that they arent a part of ASPCA which I understand becuae no profit cant sell it but they basically became partners w them to change their name and reputation. Like aspca but wish they would just partner with an established co that holds their own. As someone who used to work in insurance,I understand they cant cover it all, but we are switching to Trupanion this year to see if we like better.

Exceedingly professional

Overall I am very impressed with Embrace; I'm kept informed of the status of my claims and their representatives are extremely polite and helpful. I find their rates competitive and a good value for what I receive.I belong to a local bird dog club and and when the subject of insurance comes up I always recommend Embrace.

Excellent service

Each and every time that I have worked with Embrace I have received excellent service. Timely, thoughtful, and informative. I highly recommend Embrace Pet Insurance. I easily relied on Embrace to handle all the claim matters while I focused on my pet and their needs. I was comforted by the fact that my pet was able to receive the best care. Our coverage was amazing. Today after a very serious injury and surgery because we had Embrace coverage we were able to make good solid decisions on our Pete's health care decisions. I'm 100% convinced that having Embrace was critical in saving the life of our dog. I can't thank Embrace enough for their reasonable premium costs and their excellent coverage. Thank you Embrace.

very unhappy

my cat has an extreme flea allergy and his dermatological result is extreme. I was told (pre-insurance) that dermatology was not covered. Ok, I understood no dermatology, then he came down with a gross hematoma in one ear--embrace said this was the result of him shaking his head due to an ear infection--(which they defined as dermatology) and none of the treatment for the hematoma was covered. Hair-splitting, vet felt so, there were no fleas involved with his ear problem.claim denied--first claim in 1 yr with 3 animals.

Insurance removes all cost surprises.

I am glad that I got the insurance for both my dogs. I dont ever want to give them less care than they deserve because the cost is more than I can afford. The insurance gives me the option to take care of my dogs without the worry of a large bill from the vet.

Simply the Best

I did a ton of research and Healthy Paws is simply the best. I even chose them over a company-offered benefit. Here's why they are the best: 1. Best value for money. 2. Awesome customer service! 3. Prompt claims processing with no hassle. 4. They have foundation in which they donate back to saving animals --- can it get any better? Don't think twice about another insurance company. Stick with Healthy Paws and you'll never be sorry.

Best thing we ever did for our girl!

Ophelia, our toy poodle began limping when she was around nine (9) months old and we thought she pulled a muscle or twisted her leg during one of her favorite play time activities (tug of war). Sadly, her limp continued to worsen and after two weeks, we finally conceded and took her to our veterinary for an exam. Once there, our Veterinarian conducted tests and x-rays and determined that both her hind femoral heads were severely damaged and diagnosed Ophelia with Legg–Calve–Perthes syndrome. Legg-Calve-Perthes syndrome is a disease of the hip joint that results in abnormal deformity of the ball of the hip joint and starts with an insult to the blood supply to the head of the femur bone. As the blood supply is damaged, the bone dies off leading to the bone in the femoral head to collapse and the cartilage coating of the femoral head becomes cracked and deformed. This leads to arthritis or inflammation of the hip joint causing pain and lameness in the affected legs. The cause is not completely understood however the treatment is a femoral head and neck excision with an excellent prognosis. (Degner, 2004) Sadly Ophelia had the issue with both her legs and required a double Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) which is expensive and painful. We scheduled the surgery for both her legs and once the surgery was completed, our Veterinarian and the Orthopedic Surgeon signed the claim form and their office sent the claim and all of Ophelia’s medical records to Healthy Paws.
