Extraordinary customer service by Monica!
I am so thankful to Monica for her care, compassion and proactive navigation of my complex situation! My puppy has had several medical issues since we got him in September, and because I have also been dealing with other personal issues, I have been completely overwhelmed and delayed in my submissions. Monica helped reach out to my vet for additional information that was missing and properly guided me towards a simpler way to submitting multiple claims. I am so appreciative of her time and care!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS – This Company Does Not Care About Your Pet
I’ve been with this company for over 4 years, paying premiums faithfully every month to ensure my dog was covered in case of health issues. Like many pet owners, I got insurance to help during emergencies—not to be punished for actually using it. Over the years, my dog developed health conditions (which is exactly why we get insurance), and I submitted claims when needed. Now, I’m being hit with a massive premium increase—from $83 to over $128 a month—because I used the insurance I paid for. Disgusting. What makes it worse is that no other provider will take on my dog now due to pre-existing conditions, so I’m stuck with this company that clearly doesn’t care about animals or loyal customers. It’s a trap, and it feels like a scam. I now have to consider a second job just to afford this nonsense. This company claims to care about pets, but in my experience, they only care about profit. Please do your research and think twice before signing up. Once you're in, they know you have no way out—and they take full advantage of that.

I will be a Trupanion customer for life.
I will be a Trupanion customer for life. When my cats have a medical emergency, I know I don’t have to be as concerned about the bill because Trupanion takes care of so much, so it’s one less thing to stress about! They’re also incredibly fast to review claims and reimburse if necessary. I’m so grateful and recommend them to literally everyone I know with a pet!

Great experience
I like what I read so far about the nationwide pet insurance. I am waiting to see where it is going to take me and Bella the cat.

Horrible
My cat has been covered under HP since 2019, and only now is the second time I've needed to file a claim for her. Process in app: Page 1 is to upload invoice for claim. Page 2 is to upload any missing medical records. Filed a claim for a 5/27/25 visit. Attached the invoice to Page 1. Page 2 stated they are missing Medical records so I uploaded all of my attachments. The app started opening claims for those old wellness visits from the records. Received a message requesting missing records. Emailed all records May 29. Received another message for same. Emailed all records June 3. Filed claims (separately) for 6/9 and 6/10/25 follow-ups. Same process. STILL claiming they do not have medical records. I attached all again for both claims and there are, once again, claims open for old wellness visits. In total, I have submitted all of her medical records FIVE TIMES in the past 2 weeks. Phone calls: May 30, June 9, June 10. All 3 confirmed they saw medical records were emailed. At least, I think because I could barely understand what they were saying nor am I sure they understood me. As of today, June 11, the claim has not processed because I'm "missing information". In addition, I now have 9 open claims when there should only be 3. I sent a heated email to customer service last night with the breakdown of the above. I'm not holding my breath for a reply.

I’m beyond frustrated and disappointed…
I’m beyond frustrated and disappointed with MetLife Pet Insurance. They denied my claim for treatment on my dog’s LEG INJURY, claiming it was "pre-existing" — even though it was a completely different leg than the one treated months before! This is absurd and feels like a blatant excuse to avoid paying what they owe. According to their logic, any future injury on any leg could be connected and therefore "pre-existing"? That’s not insurance — that’s a scam. I paid my premiums expecting support when it mattered. Instead, I got a cold denial based on a far-fetched stretch that makes no medical or ethical sense.
