I have been grateful for Prudent Pet ever since my puppy avulsed a stifle ligament and then tore a toe pad off. I've always received fast settlements and great customer service. When a claim was denied and I asked it to be reviewed due to lack of specific language in my contract, the claim was reevaluated and paid shortly after. I feel this company has been honest and so willing to help. Highly recommend.

Update: I’ve now spoken with 3 “senior managers” they can’t connect you directly you need to wait for a call back and they all speak with an extremely patronizing voice and repeat the same thing over and over again like robots. I’ve never in my life has a customer service interaction hit me so negatively especially when I’ve been paying them thousands of dollars over the last 12+ yrs. I feel like I need to warn others who love their pets to not get f’ed over like me save your money. Pet insurance is for profit they’re the house and they will always win when it comes to money spent. Trupanion doesn’t care about pets nor do they value long term loyal customers. Save your money Trupanion is worse than just throwing it away. You’re better off creating a fund and pay a savings account over a Trupanion insurance premium. I’ve had Trupanion for 13 years my dog recently passed away I was offered a surgery for approx $15k plus an approx $2-3k in services which would have been covered by insurance (less a $1k PER INCIDENT deductible) however i opted to not put my dog through the stress of all the tests. I have over $1k credited to multiple “incidents” so they have never paid out a cent to help with any of my vet bills over the years. I called to cancel my other dog and asked if they could at least back date the bill (a credit of less than $100) since I had tried to cancel the last time I called. I decided to cancel when my other dog was dying and was told that they wouldn’t cover any of the $900 even though it was going to save them a claim in long run but I didn’t have time since I would have had to wait on hold and be transferred. Trying to end an already long story the 2 ppl I spoke to were extremely robotic didn’t even express any gratitude or condolences for my dog that died and that I’d dutifully paid them a premium every month for 13 years.

I am very disappointed with your service. I have been a customer for 25 years. Yeas 25 years!!! I went to pay my invoice online on the last day it was due and I kept getting an error that the payment would not go through. Evidently you lock the system once your customer service is no longer available. I needed you at my most low time in my life as I just lost my brother to a tragic death. Paying my insurance was last thing on my mind. I called the next day only to find out that my policy has been cancelled and I would need to apply as a new customer when you clearly saw that I tried to pay it online - I sent an email and screenshot to customer service on the day it was due. Ian beside myself. I complied to reapplying sent my medical records only to find out that I need for my dog to have an annual exam which is scheduled for April. I can not get to my vet beforehand as she is booked. He was due in January and I could not take him due to the passing of my brother. I hope you reconsider your actions. Thank you.
