Amazing Insurance
I have been with Healthy Paws since 2012. Our Bella was a rescue and immediately after doing our research on pit bulls we found that they tend to blow out their knees. We asked other dog owners what insurance they went through and several of them said Healthy Paws. So we signed her up. DOING THIS WAS THE BEST THING WE EVER DID. Not only do we not know her history but our poor Bella is constantly sick. We have spent thousands of dollars on our girl and she was finally diagnosed with Addison's disease and Irritable Bowel Disease. Most of her vet bills are thousands of dollars and I would not be comfortable shoveling out this money except for the fact that I know I am at least getting 80% of it back. Healthy Paws is amazing. Within ten days of me submitting claims (which is all available to do online) I receive a check in the mail. It is incredible. My husband and I are so grateful. Bella's medicine usually costs anywhere from $300-$400. We feel such a relief knowing some of it will be returned to us. Healthy Paws constantly checks in on Bella and they are so wonderful explaining what is covered and what is not covered. If you do not have pet insurance this is the company to go with. Healthy Paws is reasonable and I could not be happier.

Pros and Cons
We cover all basic expenses such as vaccines, fleas & worms. We cover doctor fees. -But, Insurance is good to have for things that you do not predict. Such as Cancer. Trupanion is great because they good for what they say. They do cover in a situation of crisis. The only thing I dont' like is that I think my dog's file has opinions and comments written on there. I know that because the way customer service acts. I think they should be taken off because they do not have anything to do with the service or product Trupanion sells. Nor does it have anything to do with the payment Trupanion requires. In a nutshell, cs or anyone's opinion should be kept to themselves - we are doing business with the service- no comments needed or opinions needed to swing things - The opinions makes the product look not to its best standards. It's like a medical facility where staff is not focused on the terminally ill - but, focused on influences or opinions about the patient. It makes the medical service look cheap.

Helping our dog see better one visit at a time
Thanks you to the wonderful embracers who have helped our little Cavalier Spaniel, Taj, recover from the corneal dystrophy he is experiencing in his little eyes. We don't know what we would do without your coverage!

Best Insurance Company Ever
I've used Trupanion for nearly 4 years now. And I can honestly say it's the best insurance company I've ever used (for pets OR for people). They process claims quickly, they communicate every step of the way, and they've never balked at a claim. I recommend them without reservation.

Relieved to have coverage
Embrace was highest rated on a consumer website so I got coverage in order to have peace of mind should I ever be faced with a huge bill particularly for surgery. Initially I was getting a bit frustrated as it seemed a lot of little things weren't covered (minor ear and skin issues that had been noted in my dog's medical history) but then he exhibited lameness in his rear legs and I got the diagnosis of torn ACLs which is very common for the breed I hear. Thankfully I had met my deductible for the year so the procedure was covered at 80%. This set me at ease so I could focus on his recovery, not the stress of owing money!

PETS BEST IS SIMPLY THE BEST
I've had my 2.5 year old pit bull insured with Pets Best since we got her as a baby. She was a healthy pup, but has allergies! Pets Best has paid all our claims quickly and fairly. I highly recommend PETS BEST.

Great company, there when you need them.
My 6.5 year old Golden Retriever presented with vestibular disease symptoms along with a low fever on January 5, 2015. I took her to my regular vet who did a full exam. He believed her condition to be peripheral Vestibular Disease and sent us home with some medication. The following morning, she was worse. She had a lose of coordination, head tilt and was having a hard time walking. I took her agin to my vet who again re-examined her and took blood for further analysis. Her fever was a bit higher so he sent us home with an antibiotic. That evening around 9:30, her temperature hit 104.4 while I was using ice to try to bring it under control. At that point I rushed her to the emergency where she spent the night. In the morning she was examined by a neurologist who found her to have central vestibular issues, which point to inflammation of the brain. She had an MRI and spinal tap that showed she did in fact have sever inflammation of the brain and surrounding tissue. She was put on IV fluids along with heavy antibiotics and steroid therapy to reduce the swelling. She spent the next 3 days in intensive care. This was a very upsetting and stressful situation, I almost lost my girl. I was comforted by the knowledge that she was covered by Healthy Paws so I at least did not have to worry that I could not afford to pay for all the life-saving care she desperately needed. Thank you so much, Healthy Paws for being there for us when we needed you most.

Satisfied with service
Overall, we were satisfied with the company but it took a little longer than I had expected and required me calling VPI a couple of times to inquire about the status of the claim.
