I recommend Embrace to everyone, even my vet!!
I have had Embrace for 6 different dogs over several years. Embrace helped us take care of our precious 2-year old St. Bernard who unexpectedly developed a rare form of cancer to give her a good quality of life to the end. Now, Embrace is there for us as our 4-month old basset hound puppy developed pneumonia and has an internal liver shunt. She is responding well to treatments so far and is expected to have surgery to fix the problem this summer once she is older and closer to full grown. Embrace customer service and communication is awesome! Embrace reponds to claims and questions in a timely manner! Embrace's coverage options are great and claims are easy to file! I insure all 4 of my dogs because with the help of Embrace I can provide them with quality care, quality of life, and in my basset hound puppy's case Embrace is helping me save her life!

Incredible speed and efficiency. The best.
After a seizure I took my dog to The Animal Hospital in New York. After several tests they discovered that she had pancreatic cancer and the tumor could be removed. Trupanion was fantastic. It took a little longer(10 days) for them to pay me back because it was the first time I made any claim and they needed information from her vet. But I have never seen such efficiency and speed to send me a check. I was amazed and so impressed.I highly re command them.

Pet's best covered Benjamin AGAIN!
Silly cat insisted on standing his ground and getting beat up again. If the cat gets into another fight with the same tomcat, they cover it. Thank you, Pets Best!

Trupanion is GREAT!
My almost 6 year old amstaff mix had a dying tooth (pulpitis). Extraction was possible but a root canal was recommended because it was a large canine tooth. That meant $2500+ all told. Trupanion rushed to get vet records from two hospitals and pre-approved the claim between a friday pre-surgery exam when I first got the estimate, and the root canal the next wednesday. Trupanion covered everything except a $24 acupuncture needle (I declined a rider that covered acupuncture and other extra treatments) and sent out a check for nearly $1800 the day after I submitted the final invoice (I chose a $500 deductible with 90% coverage to keep premiums down). I was already stressed about my girl having general anesthesia and a surgical procedure, but Trupanion took away all the stress about money. They were helpful, caring, responsive, and informative and I'm so glad I was insured with them! And a bonus - Trupanion's deductible is lifetime per-condition, not annual or per-visit, so now that I've met the deductible they will cover 90% of her followup visits related to this condition and surgery! They let me give her the best, vet-recommended care without worrying about whether I can afford it. I can't recommend Trupanion highly enough after this experience, especially compared to stories I've heard about other pet insurance.

Healthy Paws is a life saver
Because we had a dog previously who had significant health problems and astronomical vet bills, when we got a second dog, (a puppy), we decided to get insurance for both dogs. This was in 2010. The insurance would only cover new problems for our old dog, but all problems for our new dog. Recently our second dog had GDV. This is something to which barrel chested dogs are prone, where the animal's stomach flips, cutting it off from the blood stream. If not corrected within two hours or so, the dog dies. We got Pickle, our 4-year old Standard Poodle straight to the emergency vet. They administered major surgery to save her, but save her they did. $4,500 and 6 weeks later, she is healed, happy and healthy again. After filing our claim to Healthy Paws, our part of the bill was about $500. The $4,000 was reimbursed to us within the week by Healthy Paws. They are a great company and we are so grateful for their coverage and the protection they have given our dogs.

Peace Of Mind
VPI had been recommended to us by our Vet whom we've had for nearly 20 years. He' never steered us wrong, so we felt confident in acting upon his recommendation. After having submitted our first two claims, the quick response and professional handling of our claims, has more than validated our choice. Have no fear! This company is top notch and responsive to their clients, both human and animal.
