Great Pet Insurance
I have been extremely satisfied with the service I have received regarding my claims. Any time I have called everyone has been so helpful and claims are processed quickly. I would recommend to any pet owners.

My Claim Was Closed
I have been a customer for a number of years, and have been very satisfied with the plan. However, my last claim for my new dog, Shyla, was completely mishandled. First, it was processed under my other dog, then it was "closed for lack of information." I was never notified or questioned for additional information. After I sent a message on your website, I received a reply and, after refaxing the paperwork and an additional receipt, the claim was processed. I can understand if there is a question about a submission, but do not understand why the claim was closed without any notification. It is not a very professional way to do business.

So thankful for VPI
You have to love and accept your pup for who they are and our little girl, Pickles (a Whoodle - Wheaten/Poodle), is something special. Super sweet, loveable, playful, and has major stomach issues. This starting happening at about 8 months with multiple vet visits, x-rays, surgery, food changes, etc to get to the bottom of it. We are so thankful that VPI has been along for the ride covering a majority of our vet bills that have been related to her stomach issues. The claim process couldn't be easier and now our vet even submits on our behalf.

Fantastic Insurance Company!!
Trupanion was a free trial when we first got our puppy. She is a basset hound. Little did we know we would be needing to use this insurance as soon as we did. Sara had 8 extra teeth that needed to be removed to allow room for her regular teeth to grow in properly. Trupanion was there to pay for the special Vet Dentist to do the surgery. She also has stomach problems and we are constonatly putting her on medication for that and special food to try and figure out what is causing it. Again Trupanion was there to help us through this time. Sara is only 8 months old and if we had to pay for all the medical bills so far ourselves it would be close to $5000.00 but Trupanion has been by our side helping us and caring about Sara as much as us. I would recommend this insurance for any new pet owner. They are so fast at sending the reimbursement or paying the vet which ever the case may be.

Excellent, straightforward service
About a year ago I learned about pet insurance, and after researching different companies I chose Healthy Paws; I was able to insure my 4 year old dog Kevin (180 lb mastiff/dane) at a very reasonable rate. After being a customer for a year or so, he developed a limp that persisted despite conservative treatment. He was found to have a completely torn CCL/ACL had TTA surgery. Healthy Paws covered the surgery as promised, and the process was extremely straightforward. Not so easy that it was weird: they asked for appropriate documentation but were OK with the fact that his vet in a different city had not retained his (paper) records from 4 years ago. But considering that this was a major surgery after being a customer for a relatively short time, I felt very lucky to be one of their customers. I can't imagine how one would do this better.

Trupanion is fair and efficient
Lilly came into my life 13 months ago. As an avid walker I needed a dog that could cover a lot of ground. As soon as I laid eyes on Lilly I knew she was the one. I'm retired and hesitated to get a dog because I'm on a moderate fixed income and I know owning a dog these days can be very expensive. Lilly had been found by a gentleman who was physically unable to walk her and the lack of exercise for such a high energy girl was causing behavior problems and tension between her and her owner. Pretty much at the end of his rope, he graciously allowed me to have her. I decide that I needed to be sure that I could provide Lilly with quality care should she ever need it and made the decision to get insurance. My vet mentioned Trupanion and and I'm grateful that he did. I bought the policy within days and thought that should Lilly ever be injured or swallow some foreign object she could get the help she needed. Lilly thrived on a high quality diet and daily walks of four miles a day. After being with me for over a year she began to show signs of gastrointestinal distress. When it persisted for several days we went to the vet. Two visits (including an overnight stay)with an x-ray, sophisticated blood tests, medications, food additives to aid digestion, a specially prescribed dog food, and first rate care resulted in a diagnosis of the early stage of Addison's Disease and two bills totaling $1,887.00. The first visit included items that I knew were not covered such as the office visit charge, flea/tick/heart worm meds etc. I mailed the claim form and immediately received an email from Trupanion that it was being processed. Within days a check for $343.00 was issued to cover the eligible charges. I was impressed. The second claim was for $1184.00 and a check for $1,035.00 is on the way. I got the same speedy response from Trupanion and so I will be able to use the money to pay the credit card bill before the due date. I'm very happy with Trupanion. I have peace of mind that I can take care of Lilly. We caught this condition in its early stages before organ damage and having coverage contributed to that. The vet said that she will need cortisol supplements to maintain good health and that she should have a normal life span. Trupanion if fair and efficient. Singing up was a good decision. I bought it for peace of mind. Little did I know how soon it would need it. Lilly is doin
