The Difference between life and death
I ended up at the emergency vet at 1am with my 3 year old dog Sampson who was showing signs of pain but didn't seem to be too bad.. long story short it ended up that his stomach was twisting, and we caught it just as it was starting! We were able to just say do what needs to be done, as Trupanion was available at such a random hour to do a pre-approval for the surgery. I am not sure what I would have done if I had to cover it all out of pocket... I try not to think about it. They explained again what would be covered, and what would not, and there were no surprises once the bill finally came. They covered his xrays, the surgery, the two day hospital stay and even the prescription food for recovery! I can't recommend this company enough!

The Difference between life and death

Very happy with Trupanion
Have had Trupanion for 4 1/2 years. Never a problem with claim processing. My Bernese Mt. Dog has EPI and needs pancreatic enzymes on her food the rest of her life. Trupanion pays 90% and I pay 10%.Her enzymes cost 150.00 a month. Be sure the pet insurance you buy pays for medicine. I paid a one time deductible for her illness. After that only 10% of the cost of the medicine. I would insure my next dog again with Tripanion.

PETS BEST INSURANCE IS THE BEST COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL AND UNDERSTAND THAT PROCESSING MY CLAIMS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, ESPECIALLY THE SPEED AT WHICH YOU RECEIVE YOUR REIMBURSEMENT CHECKS. I DON'T GIVE A SECOND THOUGH TO MAKING SURE MY PET GETS THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE AVAILABLE. THE ONLY THING THAT I AM AFRAID OF IS THE INCREASE IN RATES AT RENEWAL TIME. there WILL BE A TIME WHEN IT IS TOO COSTLY TO RENEW.

I wish my health insurance could work so well .
My experience with Trupanion has been perfect . The Vet practice that did the emergency surgery billed them directly and were surprised at how quickly the claim processed . The post-op overnight care animal hospital charged me directly and I was reimbursed in just a few days . I can't say enough about how well the whole insurance process went . Thank you Christine

Our Great Dane was attacked at the dog park leaving her with a huge wound in her side. She required blood work, surgery (anesthesia / monitoring), stitches, medication and follow up appointments. It was nice to say to the vet: "do what needs to be done", and not worry about the money. I received my cheque 3 days after filling the claim :)

Great Customer Service & Overall good experience
This is my second year and so far so good. Great customer service, friendly and helpful. My only suggestion is that when more information may be needed from Veternarians that I should also get contacted as well since the claim systems doesn't get updated quickly. I would rather get the ball rolling and contact who needs to be contacted inorder to get what is needed so that process moves a little faster. Also, not sure if filing a claim for illness is more complicated but this was my first illness claim I submitted and well it took a lot longer than expected. Overall great insurance and great customer service. Thank you Embrace!
