Would Recommend ASPCA
As a Pet owner I would highly recommend ASPCA Pet Insurance. I have been very happy with the prompt and professional way my Kitties, Oliver and Lilly's claims have been handled. Recently Lilly stopped eating and drinking water and was vomiting. I don't think that anything is more upsetting to any pet owner than this. After taking Lilly in to our vet , she was diagnosed and treated and within a few days started eating and drinking. Within a few more days she was back to her old self. Her claim was submitted and we were reimbursed within an appropriate time span. Thanks again to ASPCA Pet Insurance and to our Wonderful Vet!

Outrageous Rate Increase
We had VPI/Nationwide insurance for a year. They paid partial claims quickly but they were only for routine examinations. There was nothing major. My biggest problem with them in a year my policy JUMPED from $527.85 from 3/16/15 to $647.13 and that's with a 5% group discount. Now I am looking for another company!

Awesome
Awesome experience! I filled out the wrong form and the customer service rep explained the difference between the forms and emailed me the correct one. I faxed it over and within a few days everything was settled. A few days after that I received an email saying that my claim was being paid out and when I should expect it. Thanks a million!!

Best investment I ever made
When my dog Tres was a puppy I signed up for Trupanion Insurance. Tres developed allergies when he was around two and, after a small deductible, Trupanion has covered allergy testing, allergy serum, and Anti-allergy medication. Claims are super easy to file and paper work is minimal. I would highly recommend Trupanion to any pet owner.

Nothing but Good Experiences
I have been a customer of VPI/Nationwide since 2008, currently have 2 dogs insured. I feel all of my claims have been handled in a reasonable amount of time 1-2 weeks, and there have been no surprises. After meeting my deductible, VPI paid out the $$ that is listed in the fee schedule. Just like any other insurance company, you have to read the fine print and find out what you are really paying for - what is included, and more importantly, what is excluded.

Very Pleased
We recently adopted a 2 year old Chihuahua from a Rescue Organization. I looked into pet insurance, and, based on positive reviews, I got insurance through Healthy Paws. I never expected to submit a claim within 4 months of her adoption, but we noticed that she developed a 'cherry eye'. Because the documents I had from the Rescue and from her introductory Vet visit proved that this condition was not present at the time of adoption, Healthy Paws covered their part of the cost with no problems. The Veterinary Ophthalmologist was surprised. He told us that the most well known pet insurance companies have not covered most of the surgeries he performs. Would recommend Healthy Paws to anyone looking to insure their pets.

For Accidents and Illnesses
I never thought I would need to use pet insurance but bought it just in case (I have the plan for accidents/illnesses). As a vet assistant I've seen too many times when pet owners cannot afford to do the very best for their pets and have to settle for less expensive options. My dog is my family and as such I wanted to be prepared in case anything were to happen. Unfortunately, I have had to use the insurance a few times. My dog got into rat poison, xylitol from gum, bite wound, back pain, broken tooth extraction, scratch on her eye, and this is all within the past few years. The total for those vet bills is at least a couple thousand, but with insurance I've saved a ton of money being reimbursed for 90% of the bill most of the time. I'm hoping we won't run into anymore issues, but I have peace of mind knowing that if something does happen I will be reimbursed for most of the money I've spent on treatment. ASPCA has been wonderful. They always call to follow up and see how my dog is doing after a claim has been submitted. The claim form is very easy to fill out and does not require a veterinarian signature (a lot of insurances require this which requires another trip back to the vet just for a signature). If they have any questions about treatment, diagnosis or medical records they contact the veterinarian themselves. Overall I am very happy with ASPCA. My only critique is that the costs have been going up each year, but I sort of expect that to happen with any insurance premium.
