Trupanion Excellent
Trupanion was so easy to deal with. I called in twice, once before we went to the Vet with Sarge and after when I was ready to submit the claim forms. Both folks I spoke to were truly caring about Sarge, his illness and that he would be OK. Also that I had everything I needed. We were traveling at the time so offered lots of options to help with the process. Sarge needed tests and medication and it was all covered. our claim was acknowledged as soon as they received the paperwork. The cheque to cover the expenses was waiting for us when we got home. And YES Sarge is feeling better. So pleased we got Trupanion.

Cancer Diagnosis: What would you do?
My Yorkie-Poo Rocky was 9 years old when he was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in December of 2013. Many friends who are pet owners asked me why I would spend over $50 a month on pet insurance, and then when I told them Rocky had Cancer they asked me if I was going to put him down... I told them, that thought never entered my mind & I posed this question in reply. Would you put your human child down if they were diagnosed with Cancer? The answer was no of course. That is why I have pet insurance with the ASPCA. Rocky's Cancer was detected early enough by my wife and I through our discovery of a large lump in his throat, so that surgery was possible. We have a great Vet and through routine check-ups the tumor was confirmed & diagnosed. He has surgery by a specialist on December 26th, 2013 and they removed the entire tumor and half of his thyroid. Because of early detection, he will not need any chemo or radiation, nor will he need to be on any thyroid medicine. If I had a human child, I would have done the same as I did for my Dog. I would have health insurance for a child, and I would have the surgery to save their life. The only difference is that with the ASPCA Pet Insurance, it's actually easier to file a claim than with Human Health Insurance, because there is no middle-man to deal with. I would have spent around $7,000.00 on Rocky's pre-op tests and the actual surgery without pet insurance. I received 90% reimbursement within 4 weeks of the actual surgery.

Best Experience with a Company Ever
I signed up all 3 of my dogs for Healthy Paws in December 2013. I hesitated signing up my oldest dog, because she has several pre-existing conditions. I really couldn't imagine anything happening to her that would be new and different. Boy was I wrong. 2014 has not been kind to my oldest pup, however Healthy Paws has been amazing to us. Not only have our claims been handled very quickly (often within only a few days), when additional information was needed, HealthPaws reached out to my veterinarians, so I didn't have to spend my time doing that. I truly expected several of our claims to be denied because it was possible they could be attributed to treatments for pre-existing conditions. However, the link between those treatments and her new conditions was not definitive and HealthyPaws chooses to reimburse when it is not definitive that something is attributable to a pre-existing condition. That was a relief (and a surprise) to me. In addition to quick service, filing claims could not be easier, with online submission and quick acknowledgement. Unbelievably, the staff at Healthy Paws even check in to see how my pup is doing. I have told everyone I know that has dogs about Health Paws. I can't say enough about the amazing experience it has been to be a client.

There are no hidden clauses that they will lower the payout amount if you make more than the national average amount of claims that other insurance companies do. They process claims in a timely manner and have lived up to their commitment to provide 90% coverage with no hidden clauses or hassles. I recommend Trupanion to anyone who asks about pet insurance.

Easy to deal with, quick reimbursements
Healthy Paws has been fantastic. Unlike other carriers, they don't use rate schedules that complicated to understand. You receive a straight percentage back based on your actual bill from your Vet. Submitting claims is very easy, and reimbursement checks arrive within a week.

Very Satisfied with Healthy Paws Insurance
I am more than satisfied with having my chihuahua Nikko insured by Healthy Paws. He developed a Luxating Patella and needed expensive surgery to correct this. Healthy Paws responded quickly and I received a check for the surgery within 2 weeks! Another pet insurance company that I had used for another of my pets was nowhere nearly as accommodating as Healthy Paws. I recommend this insurance coverage Highly
