So thankful for the help

I have two 4 yr. old Pit-mix girls, Hapa and Koko. (Sisters) they're active and play hard. One day while playing, Hapa suddenly stopped and limped over to me in obvious pain. I thought "Oh No!" I figured it was a cruciate injury because I had just gone through double TPLO surgeries for both of Koko's back legs.(just made 1 yr.) I took her in and her X-rays proved me right. After Koko's surgeries, which added up to around $10,000 at least, I looked into insurance for them. I found the good reviews and reasonable prices of Healthy Paws to be worth my investment. My husband wasn't so keen at the time, but boy is he sure happy now! There was a bit of confusion and frustration on my part at first. I'd never filed a claim in my life, let alone for my dog. Being the first claim, Healthy Paws needed Hapa's complete medical records. There was a bit of back and forth with the vet. They said they faxed everything and I'd get an email from Healthy Paws saying the records were incomplete. After the second and third notice and seeing the vet records in person saying they were faxed and faxed again. I'd call Healthy Paws and because of the time difference here in Hawai'i, the person would take a message. But then when they'd try to call during their business hours, I'd be at work and couldn't take the call. (My husband and I rappel off of waterfalls) I'm thankful for Healthy Paws persistence, because eventually everyone connected and the records were received and the claim was being pro

Kitty ate toy

They did give us a problem about one claim on our other cat because of a "pre-existing condition" (things were taken out of context, we had to get our vet involved, write a letter, fight it). When our kitten recently ate a large toy, he needed surgery to remove it from his small intestine. They were quick, responsive and empathetic - and paid 90% - a huge relief!

Biggest mistake I made last year

I would give a zero if I could. They are complete liars, scam artists and will say anything for you to join, then not cover a thing. Please please I am begging you, do not get them. We had the second to top tier in coverage, and NOTHING has been covered. One example is the vet documented that he may have a long soft palate but were unsure and wanted to revisit if any problems occurred. Well, he did, and even though it was not discovered until nearly a year later ASPCA refused to cover the surgery because there was mention of a possible issue a year. What's worse is we even called to verify it would be covered 2 weeks before and were told it would!! Or how about when he had a flare-up within the first 30 days of getting insurance, it went away, but came back 56 days later. Again, denied because he suffered the same problem (even though it was resolved) during the waiting period. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!! They got nearly $1,000 from us for a year of insurance and covered $0 out of $2100 claims submitted.

Top notch company

We are very please with Trupanion. Without Trupanion we would not be able to afford care for our Huskies. They make a world of difference! I recommend them to anyone with pets.

Anxiety Free

The 30 day trial saved me from panicking when my sweet puppy min pin was crushed in the recliner resulting in a fractured spine, broken ribs and bleeding lungs. I was so grateful for Trupanions help and support that I signed up immediately once my trial period had ended. I hope nothing happens to my sweet puppy ever again but I feel better knowing you guys are there to help if I or she needs you! Thank you!

They truly take care of you

These guys continue to impress me beyond belief. We've had several claims now in the multiple $1,000's of dollars (bloat, etc.) and they continue to come through time after time for us. What my wife and I can't believe is the time it takes for us to receive our reimbursements--one time just two days. I have an extremely hard time believing there is anyone else out there faster or better to take care of our "little" Titan. Go with Pets Best. Won't disappoint!!

Much Improved

They have definitely made many improvements! The first time I filed a claim a few years ago, it was not an easy, pleasant or efficient process. This time it was much easier, they now take responsibility for securing the medical records and the turnaround for payment was fairly quick. My only criticism is that an illness directly related and attributed in research to the primary condition was treated separately, which means an additional deductible.
