Thank goodness for trupanion!
I went out for a few hours and when I came home my dogWas laying in a pile of drool and was so dizzy, swaying back and fourth. My dog is an 8 pound yorkie. I immediately called my vet and took her in. They suspected toxicity from something my dog ate. After xrays they found out it was something stuck in her stomach. An estimate was sent to trupanion who responded within the hour to let me know everything would be covered. They even called me to let me know. My vet bill began increasingly getting larger and larger. It was such a relief to know I had trupanion to help me out!! My bill ended up being 1500 and I left only paying 250.00. I am so thankful for trupanion, you never know if something will happen to your dog and such a relief to know trupanion is there to back you up. I would definitly recommend trupanion!

Very disappointed
We had Embrace for both of our boxers. Our first and only claim was a great disappointment. After review of our boxer's medical records, they eliminated coverage on just about all potential future issues. This included the shape of his jaw, being a boxer. The evaluator stated that there would still be value in keeping insurance for things such as torn toenail! Unbelievable. Never again!! Waste of money.

Pets Best claims processing is INCONSISTENT!
I would warn anyone against obtaining a policy through Pets Best Insurance! I've had my pets policies with their Pets Best's NEW underwriter for over 1 year. I had a policies with their previous underwriter for more than a year as well. (I've had policies on my dogs through Pets Best for over 3 years, but they changed underwriters and constantly change their adjusting practices!) The only reason I still have my dogs insured through them is because the dogs have coverage for torn ACL's (which usually is excluded for the 1st year of a policy through most insurance companies). Additionally, both dogs have conditions that would be considered pre-existing if I obtained a policy through a new insurance company as the conditions manifested since the dogs have had Pets Best Insurance. Pets Best Insurance claims processing has been completely inconsistent; I never know when they will pay for something and when they won't. In fact, I have had claims processed by the head of the claims processing department repeatedly, and he has processed the claims completely different - it seems he'll pay something one day, and not the next. You can't count on knowing how your claims will be processed at all, therefore, you can never really know if your dogs treatment will be covered - despite what the sales people tell you over they phone (PS- they don't process your claims, they work on commission and will tell you what you need to hear to sign up!). Highly Recommend, Very Satisfied
Our miniature schnauzer developed bladder stones that did not dissolve with medical therapy, so he eventually required surgery. Trupanion covered 90% of all the medical AND surgical treatment, INCLUDING 50% coverage of the expen$ive prescription dog food. They respond quickly to previously approved covered conditions and the reimbursement arrives in a timely manner. It does take a little while initially for them to obtain all your vet records and approve an initial claim (some vet offices are unresponsive), but if you help them out by getting vet record copies yourself and emailing them to the company, they accept them and it greatly expedites the process.

Wide range of coverage and quick reimbursemt!
Our 80 pound labradoodle stopped eating, was vomiting, and had diarrhea for about a week while the vet was trying to figure out the issue. After 4 vet visits and almost $2000 spent he was finally doing much better. We submitted the claims and were covered to the maximum extent of our plan and got the checks in the mail within a few days. We forgot one form and they emailed us right away so we could send it back and recieve our full reimbursement. Couldn't have picked a better insurance company.

Prior to attaining Trupanion, I had another pet insurance company that re-rated all of the cost when i visited the Vet. In the end, I received less than half of my initial claim. The Insurance company Rep said that they take all of the costs from Vets and adjust them according to their own stated prices minus my deductible. I was paying over $100.00 per month for two dogs and I couldn't believe it. I spoke to my Vet and they recommended Trupanion. Several months after switching pet insurance companies, my dog had been dx with diabetes and Trupanion has assisted with the financial burden without re-rating Vet cost. I paid my $100.00 deductible once and they paid 90% without adjusting the Vet cost. Without Trupanion, I am certain that i would not have been able to afford his care for life. Took a week or two for my dog's medical information to be processed, however, now i just take a claim form to my Vet who faxes it to the Trupanion. Within two days, my claim is processed and i am reimbursed right into my checking account. Without Trupanion, I do not know if i would be able to afford my dog's diabetes treatment for life. I am very thankful for their help! Their customer service is also excellent too!
