Amazing service
I have adopted a maltipoo one yea ago, and I have VPI almost since then. Pepe (my little baby) has a lot of energy, and he is very curious, so, he had experience a couple of issues in the last months. I didn't know what to expect the first time I submitted a claim, but it was super fast and easy. I thought that maybe was the first one, but I had three different claims after that for different things, and VPI always answer in an efficient and fast way. I am so happy I have the support of VPI and I would recommend VPI to every dog or cat owner.

As Good As It Gets
Trupanion has been an absolute delight to work with. We got our puppy last year and immediately signed up for pet insurance with Trupanion. Their customer service reps are a pleasure to speak with - some understanding and empathetic which is exactly what you need during stressful times. One Saturday our pup had complications from a surgery and we called Trupanion to ask what would be covered with our policy. Not only were they so kind on the phone, they were able to call back within 20 minutes with an approval for the treatment so I did not have to worry about what might be covered. Regarding reimbursements, it is the most seamless process and we always receive reimbursement within a few weeks. I am so happy we decided to go with Trupanion and I highly HIGHLY recommend to all other pet owners. You won't regret it and you have the ability to adjust your policy so it fits your budget and needs.

Best choice after reviewing top 6 in depth
We added French Bulldog to our family after much consideration and knowing the health issues of the breed. Upon joining several Facebook Frenchie groups, it became clear that Pet Insurance might be something to consider. It was also clear that locking it down before they have problems was wise, owing to the pre-existing conditions clause which is common in all plans. It was a hard sell for my husband...I'm not going to lie. We took quite a bit of teasing about our 'Dog Insurance', but having a pet-centric professional background, I know how much vet bills, can cost...not just for the one treatment, but for ongoing conditions. I researched like a mad woman, talked with several vets and got estimated costs for 'Bull-breed' problems like allergies or back surgeries, even made a graph and pro/con list....is there anything I won't do for this dog? I despise research!! I checked out and called the top 6 companies and in the end, chose Healthy Paws. Their customer service and App that allows you to snap a photo of the bill and submit from your phone (because who has time for paperwork and scanning) put them 1st for me. I liked choosing my coverage and deductible...which is yearly, not each visit...watch out! And while they don't cover the actual office visit, they cover everything else. We decided on the 90% coverage for about $42 monthly. It was not the cheapest, but it was the most comprehensive in case of emergencies for the price. If he ever has anything major...allergies, surgery, accident in his lifetime, the accumulated cost of the yearly deductibles and monthly fees will have paid for itself. Even my husband admitted it. We insured him shortly before his 1st birthday and hadn't even made a claim until almost one year in. Flapjack is a healthy boy, thankfully. But a few months ago he had a tummy issue....half the deductible met. Next was an eye infection...deductible almost met...then...Xmas Eve ( of course it's at Christmas!) he breaks out in sores and I freak out....Vet visit, lab tests, skin scrapes....Ugh. I didn't have to think about it...Insurance. I submitted the nearly $600 bill and crossed my fingers. Not only did they review and process my claim in 24 hours, I had a check within the week. We are now officially ahead financially for the year with the insurance than we would have been out of pocket. I am happy and impressed with every customer service person I have dealt with and with their overall operation. In my opinion a great value fo

wonderful company
I have 3 doxies. Honey is a certified therapy dog with health problems with allergies, diabetes from prednisone with catarct removal and then a thrown disc. Was happy that most of my bills have been covered. She is a happy little girl that brings smiles to patients in hospitals and nursing homes along with sleeping thru a Pittsburgh Pirate pup night at the ball game. Spike is her cousin, has allergies as well, recently diagnosed with cushing's along with a small leiomyosarcoma that was removed several years ago. Harley, is a rescue smooth, doing well, on his way to be a therapy dog as well.

From A Veterinarian To You: Get Healthy Paws!
As a veterinarian and the mother of a spoiled dog, I can't recommend enough the value of Healthy Paws. I've seen it help my clients and patients through some potentially difficult times, and as a dog owner it helped me when I needed the help the most. I've researched and compared numerous pet insurance companies, and Healthy Paws is the best for value, customer service, and satisfaction amongst my clients and myself. It's a must have for any pet parent!

Great Service
I have been using VPI Pet Insurance since my dog Mrs. Beasley was born 8 years ago. My policy covers everything from annual check-ups to medical issues. My vet completes the insurance forms with me and VPI is very responsive in getting a payment and detailed manifest to me. I would highly recommend getting pet insurance from VPI as soon as your puppy is eligiable. This protects you against major and minor medical expenses and avoids any pre-existing condition issues.

Service is declining
Recently, we've been noticing a trend to quickly categorize claims as "wellness" and be declined. A follow-up call is placed and after a few weeks the claim is processed correctly. This latest claim is no exception. Our dog had a urinary tract infection two months ago and the claim was paid properly. The veterinarian stated protocol dictates that blood work be taken two months after finishing the medication to make sure the infection is completely gone. We had the necessary test done, it was coded as follow-up to a previous problem, and the claim was rejected as a wellness claim. If we were not monitoring closely (as we unfortunately have learned to do), this would have been the end of the story. A phone call was made to reiterate what the veterinarian wrote down and the claim was reconsidered and paid. This sort of service didn't was unbelievable until recently. It seems something is changing in either personnel or policy at Embrace Pet Insurance. Premiums keep rising and service is getting a little careless.
