Trupanion takes the worry of providing extended care your your pet away. Especially for pets that get diagnosed with a disease. My dog Kona was diagnosed with Addison's. She's a big dog with a hefty monthly prescription bill. There was never a question of coverage. Trupanion Pet Insurance is worthy every penny.

Jessie's Lymphoma Claim - Covered....Again!
Jessie is my mixed breed Lab/Border Collie. She was covered by Trupanion when she was roughly 9 years old. She was a rescue so her age is a guess. Within months of her coverage she developed cancer with a very grim outlook for her future. This claim was one of dozens, maybe even hundreds of claims covering Chemotherapy that was paid quickly and easily. I'm not sure if I am more thrilled about the coverage or the success of the chemotherapy. However, without Trupanion we certainly could not see the miracle of the chemo. After 2 1/2 years of diligent care, Jessie is still full of life and enjoying every day. I am happy to say that I am able to watch her slow down just, a bit, from age rather than cancer. I have lost track of how much Trupanion has paid. And although all involved know that her cancer will never be gone...we can do our best to keep it in remission while Jessie enjoys a very high level quality of life. If this sounds like a commercial...it is! I do not hesitate to tell anyone who will listen how important it is to insure your pet, no matter what their age. Do it while they are healthy, the worst thing that can happen is that your pet remains healthy and you never have to experience the heartache of making a life or death decision based on money. Her diagnostic testing alone ran into Thousands of dollars...Covered exactly as her contract reads! Trupanion is a wonderful product. If you are worried about cost...if you feed a quality dog food, it is about the same as a bag of dog food each month. My policy has saved me approximately a mortgage payment each month.

Promises Kept
I have a Gordon setter puppy who is quite inquisitive. I researched many policies and decided on this one because of the excellent coverage. My pup was in the E.R. because of a toxicity issue. she found an asthma inhaler and bit the canister resulting in an overdose. Vet said she'd never seen a pup do this before. The tension of waiting for your beloved puppy and the family worry is bad enough without having to worry about how you are going to pay for it. Thanks to Embrace who received the claim and paid very quickly! I only regret not having bought the top of the line policy. I had to pay the $500.00 deductible and was reimbursed at 80% like I chose. I will up this next year because my pup deserves the best care.She is fine, now been spayed too and embrace sent that check lightning fast as well!

After a year of debating if getting a puppy was a good idea, We took home our little Pug (Maddie) in the summer of 2014. Being a first time pet owner I had a million questions about everything. Our Vet gave us some brochures on pet insurance. I literally spent weeks comparing them all. I am so glad that I chose Embrace. They have been wonderful. We completed the medical history review which is great because it doesn't leave you wondering what they will or won't cover. Maddie developed generalized demodicosis with a secondary infection. She also has a food allergy and possibly some other allergy that made diagnosis a little more tricky. Embrace has covered almost everything from the Vet, to the Dermatologist, to a second dermatologist opinion. There was one time a claim was denied because the adjuster felt it was a skin problem that fell under pre-existing conditions. But the appeal process was simple and easy I submitted a visit summary from the vet that I get after every visit and in like 1 week it was approved. Customer service is excellent. The only reason I gave a 9 instead of a 10 was I think there is some room for improvement in the area of submitting claims like uploading them to the website instead of mailing them. Also there call wait times can be long But they never try to rush you off the phone. I would highly recommend Embrace pet insurance to anyone who is getting a puppy. It is the best money I have spent on her.

I purchased Embrace for my dog Izzy when she was ~ 1yr old, a few friends of mine had issues with their young dogs which required expensive surgeries. I was thankful that in 5yrs I did not have to use it. Then this year my dog developed a cancerous tumor which had to be removed, she had 3 tumors but only 1 was cancerous. The surgery cost $3000. The Embrace claim form was easy to download, was submitted with all paperwork right from my vets office and I received a reimbursement check in ~ 1 month. It was a relief to know that a portion of that large surgical bill would be covered.

Not worth the premiums paid
VPI has a schedule of what they will pay for individual services/conditions. It is not much compared to what you are charged if you have a major event with your pet. We switched to Trupanion. They pay 90% after the deductible (per illness/incident) minus office visit charge.

Excellent customer service
Trupanion actually does what it advertises, unlike VPI which did not when our pets were covered by them. Trupanion needed a lot of in depth information before they paid our initial claim. We have a $500 deductible. After that was met, they paid the claims (minus office visit charges) at 90%. We have peace of mind.
