We never would have imagined that our 4 1/2 year old French bulldog/boston terrier cross would be diagnosed with cancerous mast cell tumors . . . without the help of Trupanion we would not be able to afford life saving treatments. Trupanion now offers direct payment at most veterinary offices, which means that you pay your portion (Trupanion covers 90%)and the clinic collects the remainder directly from Trupanion. I believe that EVERY pet owner has a responsibility to provide the best care for their pet and pet insurance is the absolute best way to cover health issues.

We have two labs brother and sister. You always hope for a perfect life where nothing goes wrong. The last month and a half has been one of the longest of our lives. The brother came down with HGE the middle of April. That bill was over $1,000.00. The sister needed major surgery for a torn acl. That bill was a little over $4,000.00. The customer service was so helpful. Everyone I talked to was so friendly and professional. Thank you Healthy Paws for making a very stressful time so much easier. And thank you for following up on both my buddies! I have and will continue to recommend Healthy Paws to everyone.

Great and fast service,
I am amazed on how fast and courteous Trupanions service is. I used to have my pets enrolled with VPI but switched due to the lack of service with them. With Trupanion my policy is what it is and they are very open and up front with what they cover.

BUYER BEWARE
I was sold on this company (previously with VPI) when they told me that their premiums do not drastically increase as your pet ages, but rather their premiums are a little bit higher at the start compared to other pet insurance companies. Well low and behold I received a 60% increase in my four-year-old labs premium today, from $50 a month to $82 a month. Ironically, this comes after dealing with an unfortunate situation and trying to get my four-year-old Labrador diagnosed and treated following multiple vet visits and diagnostics including bloodwork, x-rays and joint tap. We finally saw an internal medicine specialist who diagnosed my dog with an immune mediated polyarthritis. Trupanion was very good with processing my claims in a timely manner. The agent I spoke with stated that my 60% rate increase had nothing to do with my claims this year. She stated that the increase was due to a 20% cap that was removed in the state of Colorado and that the rate increase was due to the analysis of the veterinary costs in my area (breed specific). I told her a 60% increase is criminal especially based on what I was told at the inception of the policy and how Trupanion prides themselves on not raising rates based on the age of the animal over the life of the policy. Total BS!!! They raised my rates because I had claims this year. Period. End of story! I thought they were different but it looks like I have been duped once again by another greedy insurance company! The kicker is along with my 60% increase they send me this letter stating how happy they are that me and my dog are part of the Trupanion family and that they hope I love them as much as they love us! Oh yeah… I'm definitely feeling the love!

Healthy Paws ROCKS!
Our dog had an eye problem recently, which went from us thinking it was allergies to over $1000 in vet visits and a surgery. We were so pleased with how Healthy Paws managed our claims quickly and kept us updated as to how they were coming. I won't ever have an uninsured pet again!They've given us peace of mind that we can handle whatever health problems arise with our pup.

Excellent service during stressful times
We have a greyhound/collie cross who unfortunately has a very sensitive tummy and has been admitted to hospital twice in a six month period for rehydration as she was very, very sick. We never have to worry about any of the details of paying for her treatment which leaves us with peace of mind and time to focus more on our girl. This is the best pet insurance company ever and I recommend them to everyone I meet.
