Pets Best is allowing us to have more time with our dog

My dog Echo (7 y/o MN Pomsky) has been a pretty healthy guy his whole life, we were actually considering not continuing with pet insurance this year but did keep it "just in case". In April he started limping, we first thought it was an injury but rest and steroids didn't help at all and it got serious very fast. Our vet referred us to neurology and we were scared and confused how a limp could be neurological. After and MRI they found an inflamed brachial plexus nerve, they said it's possible its from and injury but more likely it was a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST). We tried more steroids in hope it was just inflammation but he just kept getting worse. After a second MRI they saw the nerve was thicker and the only option was amputation and a hemilaminectomy to get rid of his pain. We got this histology back and it was confirmed he has MPNST and they were not able to get clean margins because it is coming from his spine. We are now doing radiation therapy in hope of killing the remaining tumor cells. Having Pets Best insurance has allowed us to do everything Echo has needed for the doctors to care for him best and we didn't have to stress about the cost of it all. We are about $30,000 in so far and Pets Best had been amazing and covered 80% of it all, allowing us to give Echo every treatment and option for a pain free life. I don't know if our boy would be here today if we didn't have the pet health insurance, we are so incredibly thankful for Pets Best insurance helping us have more time with Echo

Awful company ….

Awful company …. Stay away 😥 My 6 year old golden doodle was just operated due to a mass on his shoulder area . The claim was partially denied ,because of a pre-existing condition. The pre existing condition was an allergic reaction in his paws . It causes him to lick his paws during certain times of the year . I followed all recommendations from embrace . On their recommendation, I sent an estimate of what the procedure would cost . I was approved an estimate of $1900 for a $2300 procedure. Nothing changed on the day of his procedure, except it was less extensive as planned. The actual procedure was just shy of $1000( my Vet , tends to be more on the cautious side regarding estimating costs ). I was just awarded a claim in the approximate amount of $250 for a $1000 procedure. There were actually 2 masses removed , both were identified as an abnormal growth ( nothing related to allergies ). Thank God they were benign. When you do the math , 1900/2300=0.826 . I followed their procedures ( the estimate included all pertinent information). I was expecting approximately 82% of the amount expected to pay . 250/1000=0.25. Due to my Vet being cautious on the high side , the actual amount came in less than planned . I only received approximately 25% . I never received any phone calls explaining why ! Shame on Embrace ! I’ll start my agenda by reporting this to the BBB .

Pets Best is the Best, Literally.

This has got to be the clumsiest, most expensive dog I have ever owned, but I am so thankful I had the foresight to get him pet insurance as a puppy. Pets Best has been there for us every step of the way, and I am so incredibly thankful to have a policy that covers all of Jasper's needs. Never once have I had to worry that we wouldn't be able to take care or him or that his claims wouldn't be covered - I recommend Pets Best to all my friends and family for their own pets needs. It really has been a life saver - MULTIPLE TIMES!

Rates keep going up and up

Started at a reasonable $25/month for our 7 month old rescue pup. Every year the monthly cost went up $5-10. About 4 years ago we had one claim of about $700. They didn't want to pay because they claimed we didn't have enough of the dog's history/records. The ASPCA was both the vet and the place we adopted from, so they had all the records the dog would ever have. Healthy Paws reluctantly paid the claim, but then raised our rates even more. After 7 years, we were at $75/month. Just got a notice they are raising it to $155/month! For no reason. Putting the money in a savings account rather than paying them any more.
