Easy to use
My policy covers most preventive care which offsets some of the premium. It is easy to submit claims and check the status. Reimbursement is timely.

First Claim at Pets Best
"After many vet bills with previous pets, and as vet bills have increased over time, I decided to buy pet insurance with my new puppy in 2020. I decided on Pets Best after thoroughly researching many companies. My first claim to Pets Best came as my dog was about to turn 5 years old. The claims were submitted quite easily and once I paid my deductible, my claims were very quickly processed with a clear explanation of benefits. I am so happy we got pet insurance. It provides some piece of mind. I am very happy so far with my experience as a Pets Best customer. "
You never know until you need it
This is our first time having pet insurance and Pet's Best was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try and are so glad we did. Our dog had a puncture wound on her paw and it had abscessed. Our regular vet could not tell if there was a foreign object still inside so we had to take her to a specialist that had a CatScan to check. She was on antibiotics for a long time and had to take it easy while recovering. Pet's Best helped ease our fears on the cost so we were able to completely focus on our dog's recovery. Thank you Pet's Best for reducing the stress in a stressful situation."

Expensive
My dog recently passed away due to chronic kidney disease. It was great that they covered the expenses, although I had to pay my deductible multiple times for the same issue... In the end I probably paid almost half of the bills anyways. The one thing I hated about Trupanion was their cost of coverage increased every year. It started at about 70$ every month (at less than a year old) to about $226/month when my dog was 7 years old - my deductible was $900. It ridiculous how much it increases per year just because my dog gets older.

Heartfelt Thanks to Healthy Paws – You Gave Me the Courage to Do What Was Right
When my dog was suddenly hospitalized with pancreatitis, I was overwhelmed with fear. He needed to be admitted to a specialist hospital right away, and the thought of what it might cost was terrifying. But because I had Healthy Paws, I didn’t hesitate. I was able to say “yes” to the best care without that sinking feeling of financial panic. They reimbursed me for everything covered under my plan — quickly, clearly, and without any frustrating hoops to jump through. The process was transparent and incredibly smooth. But what really moved me? They reached out just to ask how he was doing. It wasn’t just a claim to them — it felt like they truly cared. That small act of kindness meant the world to me during such a vulnerable time. Healthy Paws gave me the freedom to focus on healing and hope, not costs and paperwork. I’ll always be grateful. 🐾💛

The last time I filed a claim it took a lot longer to get an update and reimbursed. I love the communication I received along the way and reimbursement was so much faster!

High Premiums & Crazy Hike at Renewal
High Premiums & Crazy Hike at Renewal Figo increased my premiums by 40% and 31%. Now over $310/mo for two healthy dogs. I have been with Figo since 2021. I renewed my policies for a new zip code in March 2025 for a 5yr 2mo old dog and a 7yr 3mo dog. The monthly premiums increased less than $10 per policy due to a new zipcode to $118/mo and $114/mo for each dog respectively ($232/mo total). That’s fine. However, upon autorenewal in May 2025 (only 2 months later) Figo is now increasing the premiums to $165 and $149 per month citing age, breed, and zip code. There was no change in zipcode since the March renewal, no change in breed (obviously), so the only cited reason by Figo that did actually change is age... By two months! How on earth do they justify a 40% and 31% increase in cost for a 2 month increase in age!? These are two healthy dogs / breeds with no persistent health issues and who are not particularly old. I understand Figo has the right to increase premiums by whatever amount they desire, however their cited reason does not make sense to me. Only reason they get two stars and not one is because they paid claims when I submitted and did not scam me. However, we will be cancelling because nearly $4,000 a year is absurd and I am afraid of how much they will jack up the price next time if we stay. Honestly, the insurance is probably not worth it in my opinion. Even though I have filed claims I am probably still in the red given the premiums I have paid since 2021. In my opinion the only benefit is you can essentially spread the cost of a surprise / emergency vet bill over time but you are absolutely paying for that privilege. If you can afford an emergency vet bill once in a blue moon, I advise skipping the insurance.

Great piece of mind
The wellness coverage makes this insurance worth the money. Being able to get reimbursed for a good amount of the wellness, vaccines, and labs makes the premium worth the cost. Obviously, vet costs can be very expensive if your pet needs surgery or expensive treatments which is why we carry the insurance, much like we have health insurance and car insurance - to help offset the costs of the unexpected.
