Young Dachsund with Unexepected and Urgent IVDD Issues
Our family has two young dachsunds (4.5 years old) and they were both seemingly perfectly healthy. We've had Pets' Best since they were puppies but had never expected to need them. Then in May 2025 our dog lost the use of his back legs abruptly. It turned out to be a ruptured disc in his spine and required emergency surgery to give him a chance at walking again. We were stressed and not sure what Pets' Best would or wouldn't cover. But they covered exactly what they said they would and gave us peace of mind to do what we needed to for our dog. He's sadly been plagued with this issue twice more this year, despite all our best efforts, but Pets' Best has been there to help each time. Really appreciate them!

Unclear requirements
I purchased Lemonade just for one cat to try it out. Well after the 15 day waiting period, with no claims filed, he had an exam and nothing was found. I didn't file a claim until the following month. The vet recommended an echo to rule out heart or lung issues. I filed a claim for this visit. Nothing was found wrong with my cat, so the vets were thinking behavioral or allergies. My claim was denied by AI, I have to assume, as it was literally denied within a few minutes. I didn't know what to claim exactly, there is a list and you have to pick something. Since he isn't diagnosed with anything, I put his issue as behavioral because nothing physical found to be an issue. Lemonade states without follow up medication or some other treatment, they won't cover it. I didn't see anything to explain what this insurance covers or doesn't cover, but I don't think this company is fair. They are the cheapest but there's no point in insurance if nothing is covered or what is covered is very difficult to determine.
Positive review after visit to a new Animal ER
Our vet of many years was too busy to see our sick dog. We were advised to take him to the ER. I knew since I had dog insurance I would be able to afford to take him in. The reception staff mistakenly entered the Trupanion claim using the reason we brought our sick dog into to the ER. Trupanion paid as it was designed to within minutes! I persuaded the receptionist to put the diagnosis the vet gave as to what was wrong with our dog. She spoke to Trupanion and the claim sent to appeals. I paid for the portion of the bill so we could go home. By the next morning I had received a rext message to indicate we had been reimbursed our money. If only human health care worked this way!

Hate to have to give this rating but...
Hate to have to give this rating but I have to. I have been with embrace for about 4 years. I received the quote for next year and my jaw dropped. I understand as a pet ages the cost for renewal goes up. It works the same way with humans. Every year it would go up around $100-200 but not this time. I paid about $700ish for all of 2025 and next year is about $1300ish. Almost double, this is insane. It was this year that I discovered he has Cushing's Disease and gallbladder sludge, what a coincidence. I believe this is deceptive practice because in "pet insurance" world, if your pet has a pre-existing condition, you can't just up and leave to another insurance. I feel this is how they trap you because they know that you do not have the freedom to just up and leave. Now you just have to settle on the exorbitant price increases. They will hit you with this copy/paste message " Embrace evaluates our premium increases annually based on our entire book of business focusing on several factors, including the age of the insured pet(s), the tenure of the policy and also factoring in veterinary inflation. This includes not only rising veterinary costs but also the recent advances we are seeing in veterinary care. We strive to find a balance in maintaining quality coverage for the pets that we insure, while also factoring in changes in the marketplace." This is just an excuse to lighten the blow to you. I reiterate, the reality is if your pet develops a condition under their policy, they see it as free reign to double, triple, quadruple your renewal because no other insurance will take you now. Be careful. I will be challenging this.
