Claims process is horrible
I hope to be able to update this, but as of now it is a 1. I submitted my first claim ever on September 16 after my dog experienced an emergency when his stomach twisted and his spleen also got tangled (GVS). It required immediate emergency surgery on a Saturday night otherwise he would have died within an hour. He had to have his spleen removed and his stomach tacked to his body cavity (gastroplexy) and then spent 3 days at the vet. It is now October 4 and I have not received any updates or reimbursement. I have talked to customer service 2x and they said since it is my first claim it can take up to 40 days to process? I do not understand why this is the case since this was truly an emergency situation. The vet bill was over $2700. I expect my 90% reimbursement after my deductible. I have provided all documentation from the emergency vet.

I went to the vet with my dog and it was just a wellness check that he gets every year. I sent pictures in of my receipt on the app to the insurance company and they got back to me within 10 minutes saying that my claim has been received and within a couple days they sent me another email saying I'd receive a check.

My precious 7 lb Yorkie, Gidget has been the delight of our lives, but she's had numerous health issues over the past 13 1/2 years. I'm grateful we had purchased health insurance for Gidget, not ever expecting her to have so many health issues. Thanks for the help we received from Pets Best Insurance, we have been able to get the treatment she's needed over the past 13 1/2 years. Which has been very expensive. I would recommend purchasing Pets Best Insurance to anyone who loves their animal, who seeks the best of care for them. Without Pets Best Insurance we might not have been able to afford the care she's received. Pets Best Insurance has definitely been a blessing in getting the best of care for her.

Quick reimbursement
Pets Best has been great with claims for our 1.5 yr old Great Dane who became sick in May, requiring several vets (emergency, regular and specialty) to be involved in diagnosing and caring for her, until pancreatitis was diagnosed. They continue to cover necessary lab work and follow up visits as well as other visits when she has had unanticipated slight relapses. It's great to have insurance that covers more than the initial diagnosis and treatment. I think this is the best pet insurance we have had with any of our last 5 Great Danes!

As Advertised
I just switched from another company who just didn't follow through on my claims. So it was very satisfying to see the Pets Best actually did pay for Buddy's annual checkup/vaccines just as advertised. I chose to file via mail and had no problems whatsoever. Emails kept me informed on the status. I'm very pleased that I switched.
