Great so far!
So far, we've had a positive experience with SPOT Insurance. We have a 14 year old dog who we needed to get insurance for due to her old age and fear of something happening and not having coverage to pay for it. SPOT was one of the best resources we found and their team is really helpful, thorough, and patient as you're trying to figure out what's best for your pup!

Claim denial and appeal process
My policy includes preventative care coverage and my claim for anal gland expression was denied even though it is specifically listed under preventative care. The reason for denial is not clear on the EOB so I called customer service learn that I would first need to see the Vet and have the Vet recommend the procedure. I agree with that for standard policy coverage. The preventative care coverage does not state that I first need to see the Vet. The appeal process is complicated and designed so that customers will decide it is not worth the hassle. Poor customer support and service. The website is a nightmare
The website is a nightmare. If you upload claims, they get lost. Customer service is abysmal. I am constantly having to call to straighten out my claims. I have two dogs, they always go to vet together, and so I have to send all pages of claim forms for each dog, that’s Ok, but they constantly screw it up. I finally spoke with a claims manager about the mess. It says it will take 5 days to review claims, it’s more like 20-25. Problem is once you are with a company you can’t change because of pre existing conditions.
