Beni meets a dog whisperer
Beni had an eye infection. The vet (locum) was truly a dog whisperer. Beni is difficult to handle, not aggressive, just wiggly and the vet always gets down on the floor to examine him. Anyway, with two assistants his eye was examined and treated. He is fine after five days on the eye gel. The office staff submitted our claim on the spot and we knew then that none of it was covered. We have a $500.00 deductible. We insure Beni just in case something really bad happens since, as you know, it doesn't take long to run up a large bill when treating our pets. With Trupanion the claims are handled very efficiently through the veterinarian's office. For someone looking to purchase pet insurance, we would have no hesitation recommending Trupanion.

It's really disappointing that no help can be offered at all in any way for conditions an animal presented with during the wait period.
It's really disappointing that no help can be offered, at all, in any way, for conditions an animal presented with during the wait period. I really wish that there was some sort of system to allow for help with these things- they're very high cost and it may be a huge barrier to treatment for people who are trying very hard to do the right thing by their pets.

Is this the right insurance for me?
I' m not sure if this is the best insurance for everyone. We've sent in claims but have only received $1.80 in repayment so far. I'm not totally sure what is covered and why this insurance is the recommended for my furry family member.
