I have a black lab that had knee problems and I had pre-diagnosis on the one leg ended up needing cruciate ligament which was obviously not covered because I put insurance on afterwards! unfortunately the dog needed the second knee repaired and insurance would not cover yet which was somewhat disappointing for us

Billing was very confusing. I have paid my veterinary at his office on the day of the surgery for my dog, Penny. Now you tell me I only owe $393.97 when I have already paid $732.75. The Vet's office phoned you while I was there and received confirmation that you would send me a cheque for the difference. You have not given me satisfactory service for my first ever claim. I am considering leaving as I have paid you since 2016 and this is the treatment that I have received. Not good enough! Please send me the cheque that is owing to me ASAP.I could set up my own account to look after Penny's needs and would not have the confusion as I have had over this claim.

The people are nice, but almost everything I submit is denied. Also, changing my address from a PO Box to a street address less than a mile away is going to raise my rate $34 a month.

Not happy with price keeps going up and in the 6 years I've had it you have only paid out $19.
Not happy with price keeps going up and in the 6 years I've had it you have only paid out $19. But yet price keeps going up typical insurance. I pay the same as someone who gets use out of it. Should be like car insurance you don't claim rate doesn't go up. Would not recommend to anyone would actually say open your own account and put money aside for type pet at least if you don't use the MONEY STILL YOURS.

All illnesses have been covered!
My pup has had several issues that have led to vet visits. All sick visits have been covered under our policy. The EOB comes within a week and the money is ready for deposit soon after.

Very easy to file claims and quick responses.
It is very easy to file claims and FIGO has quick responses. I had to submit a claim because my pup was having some back pain (being a silly pup ran into something). The filing and reimbursement processes went very smoothly.

Unprofessional Conduct
My 9 month old goldendoodle stopped eating and was very ill, the vet sent her to the animal hospital for emergency surgery and unfortunately I had to wait in the waiting room 1pm-6pm and by the time they told me the $7500 price tag, you were closed to call and ask about my coverage. I could not afford to agree to the 8pm surgery but they offered to call Nationwide and verify I had coverage and if they could at least verify an active policy, they'd do the surgery and I could call in the morning about the benefit details. They called. Your representative told them my policy was in danger of being cancelled. So, she came back to say they couldn't do it. So my pet suffered another 24 hours until I could start the process over again and find a new hospital. The policy was in fact in force and paid for another 30 days of the current date. This information was not provided. So, false information was given (confidential information actually because the answer to the question was "yes, that policy is active if you operate today") and it caused me severe stress for me and my animal. I followed up with a call the next day and updated my debit card which had changed. There never was one single day that policy wasn't paid. AND I had not been notified by email or phone or anything. They said that takes 2 weeks as they attempt the card again before they notify the policyholder. Well, why are they telling anyone else before me? This had a very negative affect upon me and is NOT why I bought insurance in the first place. I bought it because I cannot afford an unplanned expense. If the vendor is willing to work with me, your people shouldn't try to sabotage my getting help. I would like someone in management to call me. 512.921.2374.

Recently, we had to bring my Shih Tzu to an Emergency Vet. When I got home from work, he would not walk and just moved his head from side to side. From there, I saw my regular vet the next morning and was then referred to a neurologist. I had each doctor send an insurance claim in to Healthy Paws who immediately processed my claims within days of each visit and expect to receive our reimbursement soon. I had opted for insurance six years ago that has a $500 deductible and 90% reimbursement so the majority of our bill is being covered. It is wonderful to have such a fabulous pet insurance company behind us; sending us notes not to worry about the claims as they will process them and to focus on my dog. We have been able to focus on our pup with no worries whether the claim was being handled or not as we received constant updates on the status. We love Healthy Paws Pet Insurance and will continue to use them as our provider for years to come.
