Trupanion was the best choice we have made with our dog's.

Awful communication

Awful awful awful. In March of 2019, I called to cancel my policy. After the confirmation via phone of my identity, they sent an email I was supposed to reply to to CANCEL. Otherwise, they keep my policy, which they did. Feb of 2020, I get a notification cause my premium hit over $100; apparently i have been getting charged since March not noticing. Also, after I intended to cancel, my premium was increased by $27 as well. Called again to cancel, finding out that email confirmation policy has changed. Imagine they found it ridiculous. I’d be contacted about back payments. Never contacted. I called again, put on hold and spoke with a manager who said he’d provide info on back payment. Never was contacted. Just got off that phone, yet again saying they’d contact me via email or mail about the back payment details. I forced the agent to stay on the phone with me till I received this email confirming along with details noted to my account. Extremely frustrating to deal with, can’t imagine how bad communications for a claim would be.

Great Insurance

Didn't think I would ever need to use this and quite often complained to my wife about the monthly bill. But when the time came and we had several thousands of dollars in vet bills, I was glad we had it. I easily filed my claims and within days was reimbursed. They also kept me updated on the status of my claims as the progressed through the process.

Glad they've changed carriers

Great company, and super easy to talk to on phone. Have had some issues with old carrier, hence the appreciation for the initiative to change carriers on their part. I gave an 8 on ease of claim rating but feel the need to explain. I'm 71 and have been described by my sons as technologically challenged! I eventually do get it, but am slow to file claims and loathe doing it. Figo has been more than patient with me!

Insurance is a no brainer.

Sandy became ill. After finding out the cost,we were hesitant. Knowing we had the insurance we went ahead. She is doing better know. And the vet said things are under control.

Extremely slow in processing claims

Extremely slow in processing claims. Also very high priced premiums, The last couple of years have seen a drastic decline in customer service.
