Great insurance

This is the first dog I’ve insured and it’s already paid off at age 6. She needs allergy meds (covered) and recently had surgery for cyst removal (covered). The response time is very prompt. I feel assured that if she ever gets really sick, she’ll be covered. My last two dogs cost thousands of dollars in their last years.

Thank You for your Wonderful Service

I want to thank each and everyone of you at Embrace Pet Insurance. I have had my dog and 2 cats insured through Embrace for several years and up until recently, I have been lucky to not have to submit a claim. Unfortunately, my kitty, Smokey, began losing weight. He was very sick and I was taking him to the Vet and after much testing, they found he had Triaditis and Cancer of the Intestines. Needless to say, it was expensive and had it not been for Embrace, I could not have given my kitty extra time and comfort before I had to send him to the Rainbow Bridge. Embrace made it so easy to submit claim forms for each Vet visit, each test, all the medication poor Smokey was on. They processed the claims efficiently and quickly. They approved everything that was covered under the policy I chose and the checks were in my hands so I could continue to try to help my kitty. Smokey was the sweetest, kindest cat I have ever known. I miss him so much. After I let Embrace know that Smokey had past, I received a beautiful sympathy card from them. The employees wrote individual messages to me and I can't tell you how wonderful that made me feel. They cared and they treated me with the upmost respect during this horrible time. I cannot encourage you enough to get Embrace Pet Insurance for you beloved fur kids. This is an A+ company and compassionate too.

Best Pet Investment!

I'm not big on leaving reviews but I cannot recommend Trupanion highly enough! My puppy chewed through an electrical cord, 2 days after we decided to buy pet insurance, and the bills were huge -- over $3,000. Trupanion paid over $2,500 and the check came within 3 weeks of the incident. The service was was wonderful in every way--from the customer service rep I called to figure out how to file a form, to the email updates about my claim.

I wish Trupanion would be my health insurance provider

When our dog was 6 months old she got very sick. The vet thought she ate fertilizer. She had to stay in hospital etc. We received a bill for $3,000.00. I said, “omg how do people afford pets?” The hospital told me about Trupanion. We signed up right away and it is the absolute best dog insurance! They pay 90/10. We just learned my dog needed a new knee. While she was in surgery they found torn ligaments as well. The bill was $6,000 and we paid $600. They pay for all the follow up visits o90/10 as well. The best part is I don’t even have to lay out the money!! Normally people have to lay out the money, Submit a form, mail it in and wait for a check. Trupanion is associated with so many Vets that when I go to check out at vet, they submit it right there and I only pay the 10 percent balance. I never lay out money. When checking out always ask them to submit to Trupanion. Many times, I thought I was not entitled for payment but learned they do pay a portion. My dogs health insurance is better than my children’s. Trupanion can fix the healthcare system, not these politicians! Because of Trupanion, we are able to give our dog the best possible healthcare.

Lifesaver

Two of my three dogs have since passed but without insurance my oldest guy would not have been able to extend his time with cancer treatments so this literally gave us more time with him and that was the biggest blessing I could have asked for.

So Easy to file and quick reimbursement!

When I adopted my puppy Frances, I knew I wanted pet insurance for her, after having spent a great deal of money on previous pets. We just made our first claim a couple of weeks ago, as Frances has been struggling with a serious illness that we are still trying to get to the bottom of. The worst thing to have to consider when your beloved dog partner is sick, is whether you can afford a diagnostic test, and any ensuing treatment. The claims process using the Healthy Paws app could not be any easier! I received immediate confirmation that it was received, and the communication from them regarding our benefits was top notch! I received 90% of my vet costs back! I honestly don’t usually take the time to post reviews, but I know it’s very difficult to know if a company is going to be worth it, especially when it has to do with Health. I also wanted to mention that I received a follow up personal emails asking how Frances was doing, and truly feel supported. I one hundred percent recommend choosing Healthy paws to protect your furry loved one!

1st claim filed

It took longer to get my claim reimbursement than was originally promised, but they kept communication open about an increased number of claims at the time, and how they were not able to process claims as quickly as normal. I really appreciate that.. most companies would make you contact them first to get an explanation. This was my first claim, and I loved the explanation of reimbursement and how clearly it was broken down.

My Experience is getting better

UPDATE: Changing my review from 1 star to 3 based on a recent conversation I had with the manager. My claims are being worked. He spoke with the Vet on the phone to get all of the needed information since it was not being clearly communicated via fax and email. It took some work but I am thankful that the manager was able to resolve my issues. Previous Review: I am not sure where or how to being but dealing with AKC Pet insurance is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. It is stressful and time consuming. The customer service team is not knowledgeable and never have any information to share other then what is on my claims page on the website. I can read so I am not quite certain what the point is of having a customer service phone number unless it is strictly for people that cannot access their account information online. Every time a claim is rejected I get a sentence description of why it was not covered. The documents that are submitted with the claims are not thoroughly reviewed and it seems like they claims adjusters will do anything out of paying a claim if it is over a certain amount. I have been waiting over 1 1/2 months for a claim to be reviewed. When I called I was told it was because they waited 3 weeks to hear back from my vet. Which in fact is not my vet but an emergency vet that I have used in emergency situations although not in this one. This is the vet that diagnosed the previous claim that I had submitted. I understand wanting to get all of the information but I believe if they would have reached out to me to let me know that they were having trouble getting in contact with my vet I could have assisted instead they wait for me to call them to inquire to tell me this. Also, have they reached out to my vet? I have no idea. I was told I will get a call back from the manager later today or tomorrow. Please note that I have spoken to this manager on numerous occasions and also have been promised a call back from him more then once. It has been a month since I was supposed to receive my last call. This is ridiculous and a horrible way to do business. I actually believed that AKC Pet Insurance would be a reputable brand since they are associated with the AKC and recommended by them but I have been sadly mistaken. I asked who I should reach out to if I do not get what I need from the manager and I was told there was no one else. I know how businesses work. I let the customer rep know that I know that he has a manager and was told that she does not deal with customers. This is such a joke. And unfortunately the joke is on me. I guess the only route to go is to reach out to the Texas Department of Insurance and deal with them directly since I have tried working with AKC Pet Insurance directly and all I get is to be told I will get a call back.

Quick, Easy, & Caring!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been an enormous help with our 1 year old puppy. After having expensive health problems with a previous pet and no insurance, we were determined not to make the same mistake again. Healthy Paws came highly rated at an incredible price. Before we knew it, our puppy had injured her knee and required major surgery. With each vet and hospital visit, we quickly and easily uploaded photos of our receipts to the Healthy Paws app and claims were processed in a week or less each time. Healthy Paws literally saved us thousands of dollars and took an enormous financial strain off our shoulders.
