Highly recommend

After looking at all types of insurance for my dog (that traveled everywhere with me) I settled on Trupanion. I’m glad I did. I bought it for him when was 4 and he just turned 13 and it April of 2020 was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. That was terrible day. He needed a leg amputated to remove this highly aggressive cancer and to remove the source of his pain. He needed to start chemo that day as well. Trupanion was awesome. That bill alone was just over $5000.00. It took a couple of days after I submitted his bill to be paid (and that’s been the case for each bill I’ve submitted.) It was huge load off my mind as I was completely stressed and heartbroken over my best friend getting a slow motion death sentence and being in tremendous pain. One of the best decisions I made was getting Trupanion insurance. My dog and I have traveled all over Alaska and the PNW in wild country. Every time I’ve called no matter the time I’ve always been graciously helped. As of now 9/2020 he’s doing well and we still go hiking each day just not as far and we still have great times together. He is missing his right rear leg but he still loves life and is a happy boy. That dog and I have logged over 140,000 miles together. I’m very happy with decision to get him this insurance.

PET OWNER BEWARE!!!

PET OWNER BEWARE!!!! If I could give Healthy Paws negative stars, I would. I used to LOVE Healthy Paws. I literally would recommend them to everyone I knew. I have a dog who was a very sick puppy. Without Healthy Paws, I would not have been able to keep her alive and I do thank them for all they have done to help me with her medical problems. As an insurance company- they are great. They reimburse medical bills easily and quickly. Their claims process is easy and straight forward. The reason I am writing this very negative review is because their rates are absolutely INSANE! They let you sign up for a very cheap rate- somewhere between $30 and $50 a month. After your first year and ANYTIME something changes (your address for example) they take that opportunity to INCREASE YOU RATE. Several times I have moved since getting Healthy Paws (some I changed states, some I just moved within the SAME state) and every single time the rates increased. I recently got an email in July 2020 stating that rates were going to increase and I would go from $49/month to $61/month. No one is ever happy with rate increases but an $12 increase wasn't that bad in my opinion. It was at that time that I also updated my address and SOMEHOW it made my rate go up to $68/month. Whatever, I was not happy with the increase but again, I sucked it up. This morning, I was checking my financial statements and noticed that my premium INCREASED TO $91/MONTH. Excuse me, what?! I was never notified of this increase and I certainly doubt that veterinary costs have increased this much since JULY 2020. I know what you are thinking- reviewer has a sick dog so her rates went up because of her number of claims. NOPE. I haven't filled a claim in over 2 years due to my dogs medical issues being taken care of. So why was my rate increased so much? The question remains unanswered. I will mention that a Class Action lawsuit was filed in Washington against Healthy Paws and they were fined and required to pay back people in Washington who had been using Healthy Paws for years. So please, keep all of this in mind before purchasing Healthy Paws insurance. I wish I had known this years ago.

I purchased this insurance because I…wanted the financial protection to care for my dog well.

I purchased this insurance because I have limited income and wanted to be able to afford a pet and not worry about accidents and illness, when I got this policy I thought it would assure me I could take great care of my dog without worry if he needed vet care. I have submitted two claims in the almost year I have had this policy. First one was for his well pet checkup and the second one was for a skin allergy. The first claim took a month to get paid the second claim took 40 days....40 days! I called and left e-mails because I had assume maybe information was missing, no one responded to my e-mails and I spent a collective 3 hours on hold and had to give up. I would swtich insurance companies but if my dog has more issues with skin allergies I may not get coverage. I am so disappointed in Pet's Best and it has not provided me with the peace of mind I needed. In fact, It has caused me more stress and worry.

If you have a dog or cat, I highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I have used Healthy Paws for the past three years and have never had any trouble with them. Recently, my three-year-old dog was diagnosed with cataracts and detached retinas in both her eyes. She needed an emergency surgery to fix both before they got worse. The medical expenses for these surgeries was astronomical, but Healthy Paws ended up covering 90% of the cost. It made a world of difference, and allowed me to focus on getting the best quality of care for my dog rather than worry about the bill. Thank you Healthy Paws!

If you need insurance, go with trupanion!

When I got my puppy, he came with a 1 month trial of Trupanion insurance. After the month was up I was hesitant (was unsure of the benefits of having insurance) to sign up, but at my Vet's recommendation I did anyway. About 4 weeks later my puppy decided to swallow a plastic toy. Trupanion truly saved me huge costs! They paid over $2,000.00 of my vet bill. On top of that I did not have to worry about submitting any forms or waiting for payment as my vet was able to direct bill them! I am so thankful for their amazing service and benefits.
