Frustrating experience correcting error
Before my claim would be processed I had to prove that a documentation error on my pet's file regarding secondary insurance was indeed an error. I was required to call the other insurance company and confirm they had no record of my pet having a policy. Trupanion would not take my word that this was an error. Also, trupanion did not confirm receipt of my email addressing this concern. I had to follow up via phone to clarify the claim was going to be processed. All this for a $50 claim that did not reach my deductible. I was very close to cancelling my policy. I am rating a 1/10 due to the friendliness of the person I called to confirm receipt of my email. Otherwise, it was a time intensive, very frustrating experience.

My claim was processed exactly in accordance with the policy. No surprises! The policy is in plain language and easy to understand. Customer service is friendly and compassionate. My refund was in my bank account within 3 days of filing the claim.

Best Investment Ever!
My cat Kramer has been thriving with ongoing treatment for his lymphoma for 2 years now. I could not have afforded the surgery and ongoing treatment without my Trupanion coverage. Trupanion pays my vet directly and I pay only the balance. My Trupanion coverage allowed me to treat Kramer for this treatable disease. Without my coverage I would have been forced to make a terrible decision based solely on economics.
