Definitions not clearly stated in policy
On our most recent claim, there was a treatment that was not covered under our policy. When I went to reference our policy, this was not clearly stated under exclusions. When I reached out to the insurer to understand where I might have been informed about this exclusion, it was clear that the definition was only included in the additional rider policy. The main insurance policy provides only a vague definition. When questioned about why the definition is not in the main policy, their response was "We can't list every exclusion and defintion". However, an insurance policy and any legal document has a definitions section for this exact reason.

Sick of the outrageous yearly…
Sick of the outrageous yearly increases. We went from starting at $90/month to the latest increase and we’re at over $225 per month for a three year old lab!!! Ridiculous.

I have had HealthyPaws insurance for my two cats for years. I think their rates are very reasonable and they always send nice notes on their birthdays. Unfortunately this year one of my cats had his first (and hopefully last) major surgery and I had to submit a claim to HealthyPaws. I was honestly skeptical that the process was going to be as easy as they said (call me jaded because of how hard it is to submit healthcare claims for people). After going through the process, I'm happy to report that it really was as simple as they say (maybe simpler). My claim was approved in a timely manner and there were no "gotchas" in processing.
