Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience with Embrace Pet Insurance. My cat was attacked by another cat inside my home and needed veterinary treatment. I filed a claim expecting the company to review the situation and process it under accidental injury coverage. Instead of investigating the incident, the claim was effectively denied based on an unrelated veterinary note from over a year ago stating that my cat required sedation during a vet visit. Anyone who has owned a cat knows that sedation at the veterinarian is extremely common and does not mean the animal has a chronic aggression problem. Despite this, the company classified my cat as having a permanent “aggression” exclusion and used that as a basis to avoid covering injuries from a fight. What is most concerning is that there appears to have been no investigation into the actual incident. The decision seems to have been made solely based on a selective interpretation of historical records rather than the facts of what happened. Pet insurance should provide peace of mind when unexpected accidents occur. In my case, the claims process felt more focused on finding technical grounds to deny coverage than on fairly evaluating the claim. I hope the company improves its claims review practices so other pet owners do not experience the same issue. March 26, 2026 Update. I wanted to share an update regarding my experience with Embrace Pet Insurance. Initially, my claim was denied based on an “aggression” exclusion, which I believed did not accurately reflect my pet’s condition. After carefully reviewing the decision, I submitted an appeal explaining that the issue was related to anxiety rather than aggression. I am pleased to say that Embrace reviewed the appeal and ultimately overturned the aggression exclusion, recognizing the condition as veterinary-specific anxiety. I appreciate that the company took the time to reconsider the case. While the initial denial was frustrating, the appeal process worked, and the outcome shows that Embrace is willing to review cases. Overall, I am grateful that the matter was resolved fairly after the appeal and that the correct medical interpretation of my pet’s condition was recognized.

Kallie's Eye
We have a 6 year old 7 lb shih tzu who we had to take to urgent care due to an irritated eye which turned out to be an ulcer due to dry eye. After trying to treat the ulcer for 10 days w pain meds, ointment and oral and topical antibiotics her eye ruptured. We decided to spare her any more emotional trauma and possible damage to her kidneys/liver from medications necessary to save the eye. She had lost all sight due to the rupture so we opted to have the eye removed. She recovered fully in less than 2 weeks and was back to her happy energetic self. When I had all the bills together I was worried it was going to be more stress on top of everything we had just gone through submitting claims and having to possibly fight or argue with the insurance and it was so simple. Once I figured out how to upload the claims they were all processed and paid by direct deposit in less than 2 weeks. Pets Best sent emails informing of status and updating me at every step. I am so grateful to all the vets and techs and so very thankful Pets Best was so easy to navigate. My baby is perfectly happy and is the cutest little pirate around!
They used to be fantastic, now theyre trash
They used to be fantastic. They've covered thousands of my pets bills in the past. Now they're absolute trash. They used to cover huge vet bills without hesitation, now they've been giving me the runaround about a $240 vet bill and then said it was a "preexisting condition" which is wasnt. They say I can appeal, but it'll take atleast 3 months and I would have to do a mountain of paperwork. You're much better off putting the money you would spend on insurance in a bank account.

Pet Insurance for my Sweet Tucker
I signed up for MetLife pet insurance the day I adopted my sweet 3/4 year old rescue Tucker. Met Life responds quickly to my claims and provides follow-up from receipt to payment. When I have questions there's someone to provide answers. I'm happy with Tucker's MetLife Insurance Plan.
