My boyfriend and I rescued a 4 month old puppy in June. A friend, who is a Veterinarian recommend insurance and I wasn’t sold on the idea then. As our puppy got used to living with us, we noticed she would eat almost anything off of the ground. I was worried she would eventually eat something bad and we’d be stuck with a hefty vet bill, so I bought Trupanion as a precaution. A month later we came to find out our puppy had a life threatening heart condition with an unknown cause and ended up racking up almost 10 grand in vet bills trying to save her and give her a good quality of life. Unfortunately, we ran out of options to medically treat our puppy and we had to say goodbye to her after only having her for 3 months. Trupanion was the reason we were able to have another precious 2 months with our little baby. As someone who started off skeptical of pet insurance, I would recommend this insurance to all pet owners. Trupanion was professional and prompt with all services and claims. We appreciate all they did for us.

Submitted information regarding an ear infection and was told this was pre-existing.
Submitted information regarding an ear infection and was told this was pre-existing. An ear infection is not a chronic illness. UTIs and ear infections happen, get treated and go away. Seems silly that my 8 mth old puppy has a preexisting condition as an ear infection
