Nationwide is by my pet's side - always.
We have been Nationwide Pet Insurance customers since early 2017, and I will never go back to owning a pet without Nationwide. From the first claim to the most recent claim, Nationwide has been fair, honest, and quick with our claims regarding Franklin. We recently adopted a second Doberman and I automatically contacted Nationwide to insure her. This is the best insurance plan we can find. It is not cheap, but neither is owning two Dobermans.

Wish I had this coverage years ago!
Love the coverage, love the ease of claims. Wish there was something to encourage vets to use the VitusVet application. That would make Vet record retrieval so much better ( as proper documentation ( vet records) for claims seems to be my #1 frustration! When you have claim issues, the process seems broken, some documentation/communication/records is on and through My.petinsurance.com, while other d/c/r are by mail. This is confusing and frustrating. I’ve heard from other people that this issue is why they badmouth the program.

Making the best of a bad time
I appreciate pet insurance now. At first I thought that it was just another new fangled thing to buy for a puppy but decided that maybe it might be something to do. Then Ellie contracted a serious infection in her GI tract. Her vets were pretty conservative with their diagnostics and treatment recommendations but her bills were still over $1,000. I had thought that I could plan for her vaccinations and eventual spaying but the illness came out of the blue. I am very appreciative of the ease with which I could file the claim and get back to taking care of the puppy. Thanks!

Godsend
I've always been partial to cats. I like dogs, but I grew up without pets, but loving cats. I also grew up under the impression that cats were lower maintenance. To an exceptional extent, I could not have been more wrong. I only realized how high maintenance they can be in terms of health needs over the past couple of years. Nationwide's pet insurance has been a godsend. My cat is happy and healthy and thanks to the interventions of his veterinarian becoming less of financial strain in terms of his health needs. However, had I not had Nationwide behind me, it's hard to know how I would have wrestled with meeting his needs and managing a very small budget (I'm a graduate student). Thanks Nationwide!
