I have never had an issue with claim with Trupanion. They are quick to respond and quick to pay as long as the situation is covered! I would recommend them to anyone! I will always have my pets covered with Trupanion!

One of the smartest decisions I ever made.
Like everyone I debated whether to get health insurance for my beautiful miniature poodle puppy, and opted to do so. As it turned out, she has had numerous medical problems, including epilepsy. Healthy Paws has been prompt in handling claims and staff members are responsive to any questions. I have strongly recommended Healthy Paws to dog owning friends.

So happy with HealthyPaws insurance…
I absolutely love HealthyPaws insurance for my dog and would highly recommend it to anyone who has a pet. A few of my friends, who're pet owners, have this insurance (per my recommendation) and they're very happy with it as well. Pros: - Customer service is excellent - Very prompt payment (most times getting reimbursed within 2 days of submitting a claim) - Excellent coverage - Got coverage on a test that most insurances don't cover - Very easy to submit a claim Cons: - a bit pricy, but totally worth it, especially if you have a pet with health issues

A 22% premium increase in 2 years is utterly disgusting
On their website they say premiums will not increase due to pet age or claims. However, we have had coverage for our dog the past two years and the premium has INCREASED BY 22% in that time. When asked, they said this was due to inflation and the increasing cost of veterinary care. My partner is a manager of a large veterinary hospital. Clients would be outraged if their prices increased 22% in two years. So Pets Plus Us, when does it stop? At this rate I will be paying DOUBLE the premium amount before my dog is 10 years old. Would not recommend.

Trupanion was there for us!
Our 1 year old dog needed surgery for ingesting a ball. The event was traumatic for him and us and the ease with which Trupanion handled our claim was amazing and appreciated!

Denied everything
Unfortunately this company denied claims for an allergy skin condition treatment they insisted was pre-existing. I don’t know how they could determine that?! Certainly not true. I protested and they came back with same response. It takes over a month for claims to be processed too. Very disappointing.

Monica was wonderful. She had all of the info I requested and very responsive. Due to financial constrictions because of COVID we were unable to keep the policy but she will be my first call once I am working again.

Excellent
One of the first things I did when I got my Lab puppy at 8 weeks was sign up for pet insurance. Having researched different insurances I landed with HealthyPaws because of their good sonsumer rarings, competitive premiums and website user friendliness/interface. I have never regretted this decision. The premium has climbed significantly in the 8 years since I have been a member, but my Lab has gone through an array of health issues since she was a puppy - chronic stomach issues, two knee operations and kidney disease to name a few - and HealthyPaws has saved me thousands of dollars despite the monthly premium payment. Their claims submission process is simple and straight forward, their claims department immediately confirms receipt and the review and processing time is very prompt. A detailed explanation of benefits and reimbursement follows within a matter of days. Their customer service phone support has also been outstanding, helpful and friendly. I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone looking for dog insurance, in particular if you have a young puppy with no pre-existing conditions to maximize the benefit.
