Seems like a rip-off.
After paying the premium for a couple years, my dog needed emergency x-rays. It cost almost $400. Instead of any reimbursement, i was told that it would be applied to my yearly deductible of $500. Where's the benefit?

Great experience!
Thank goodness we finally decided to insure Emmy, just months after we did, an extended (and expensive) hospital stay became necessary and Healthy Paws has been great, they have covered everything they said they would, and reimbursement has been quick. I had a minor issue with a claim and when I called customer service it was resolved quickly and kindly. We have a friend who is a vet and she has used Healthy Paws for years for her dogs; she is the one that referred us, and I am so glad she did!

Prudent Pet for the WIN!!!
As a customer who has had dogs all her life, I never thought to have pet insurance for them. We just recently added to our family and decided it was a must! I called Prudent Pet's customer service line with a handful of questions and expected to get off the phone with even more questions left unanswered. I spoke with Monica who, not only was absolutely wonderful to talk to, but she was also extremely informative and answered every one of my questions and more! Choosing our dog Knight's Policy Plan was so easy and was done within minutes, with no pressure for signing him up for things we didn't need or couldn't necessarily afford. I found registering my children for school more difficult than this! With her background as a Vet Tech for over 20 years and now continuing to help families with their pets through a different outsource, seriously makes her that much more special. The love she has for all animals and their families truly speaks volumes to her character and professionalism. I will most definitely recommend Prudent Pet to all that have animals in need of that little extra to ensure they are kept healthy and happy!

A must when you get a dog
I have been beyond satisfied with the customer service at Trupanion. They are always available to answer my questions. They have been very prompt and fair in payments due to me. I recommend anyone who has an animal to make sure you have a policy from the beginning of getting your dog. At some point, if a medical problem arises you will be thrilled. The bills can really be steep.

Painless & Fast
I've had a great experience with this company. During a stressful time with an injured pet, it's great to know that you're covered AND you will get paid out quickly. After 2 years of no emergencies with Phoebe, she unfortunately had 2 unrelated and EXPENSIVE emergency visits to the vet this month (sliced paw pad on a rock & swallowed a sock 3 weeks later). The first claim was so easy - and we were updated on the status each day (including saturday and sunday) and i received a check in the mail on the 3rd day! In her 2nd emergency, i was panicked that it might not get covered since we submitted a claim just a few weeks before. I shouldn't have been worried - the claim went through and was accepted and paid out within just a few days (which was a relief bc the bill for this one was almost 3000!). They were friendly, quick, easy and reassuring. Not only did they not give me a hard time with the 2nd claim, like i worried - but they followed up to make sure Phoebe was ok and healing well. It has been a really great experience. For a while, i was wondering if insurance was even necessary since i had it for 2 years without needing it...but this month PROVED how crucial insurance was and i was so thankful to have them on my side!

Waste of money
Waste of money. Took over 3 months to process two of my claims and the first time they denied it because they claimed they never heard back from my vet with medical records but my vet confirmed with me that they had sent all medical records - could not get in contact with anyone from Pets best - did the same claim again and took another month, for them to just deny it again. When they denied the claim, they just copied and pasted words from their policy - nothing personal, doubt they even looked at it. They take the money from your account like clock work but they won't reply to you. I have sent over 5 e-mails, called multiple times and I have never gotten a response. I will be cancelling.

Stay away!
Don’t choose this company, they will do everything they can and possible to deny your claim!!! Our 2 yr old cat got cancer and after much email and calling back and forth to figure out why the claim was taking so long they just wanted confirmation that we didn’t have our cat during a certain time period and he didn’t go to the vet during that time not that It affect our pet insurance. Then they now are saying a scar from a scratch he had gotten when he was 7 months old is a preexisting conditioning for cancer (lymphoma at that)

Quick response, easy to use & friendly
Our little poodle Millie jumped off bed and broke her front leg in Aug. We took her to ER at that day and scheduled following surgery and weekly review for her. Each time when we submitted claim to Healthy Paws, we can get very quick response (around 3 ~ 4 days at most). We once worried that ER fees & sugary fees (thousands of dollars) may need a long time to process and we might miss the card payment date. But it turns out there is totally no basis for that concern. We will definitely keep using Healthy Paws and recommend their team to our friends who have a pet : )
