A+ coverage and service
Our rescue puppy, Emmett, swallowed a squeaker from a toy—classic puppy move—and required emergency GI surgery to remove the foreign body. The surgery and recovery were a success, and Emmett is back to playing with his toys. We give credit for this happy ending to ourselves as pet parents for getting him prompt medical attention; the hospital staff for their excellent care; and, last but not least, Healthy Paws for their excellent customer service. Filing the claim was very straight-forward and we liked getting regular follow-up emails on our claim status. We especially appreciated the supportive and caring notes of concern for Emmett from Healthy Paws. Our claim was processed quickly and we received the reimbursement check within one business week. Annie's oral surgery was supposed to be the extraction of two teeth, but...
Annie's oral surgery was supposed to be the extraction of two teeth, but after x-rays were taken the total moved to five teeth. She went through it very nicely, She overlooked her stitches and ate well but it took to the third day until she started playing with her toys. The only thing missing was the email I used to receive from VPI letting me know that the Animal Hospital had faxed my claim to them and they were processing it. I even stopped back to the Hospital to see if they had indeed faxed it. Of course, that afternoon I received the check. It was a big help in paying for part of the final expense.

Life saving surgery
Without Trupanion, we wouldn’t have been able to afford to save our dog’s life. The emergency clinic worked with Trupanion through out the whole process, reassuring us she would be taken care of. I will always get Trupanion Insurance for every new pet we get.

Nice people, great price, will deny the claim for any possible reason
Their staff are incredibly friendly and quite knowledgeable. Their website is easy to navigate. Claims are one page and you can simply fax them in. The problem is that they go out of their way to try and deny claims.

No difference without insurance
They didn't process my claim, or payout. I still have to pay for everything. Makes no difference to have insurance
