One of the best decisions I've ever made
No loving pet parent wants their pets to develop illnesses. But, just like people, they easily can. Medications for illnesses can be much more costly than the vet appointments and having the insurance is far better than having to refuse care for your pet due to cost. And with the increasing availability of specialty practices, having the insurance is far better than waiting until you wish you did have it.

They are excellent. My puppy broke her leg. They kept in touch with me checking in her and put my claim in right away. I received my check within 2 weeks. Excellent company. Would definitely recommend.

Trumpanion is not your friend
Well, don't get a rescue dog and expect them to help you. We rescued a Shihtzu 4 years ago and unfortunatley he passed this weekend after having his teeth cleaned and a few pulled. Ended up getting fluid in his lungs that they didn't catch right away and died two days later. Trumpanion rejected the claim in less than 24 hours due to the dog having some gingivitis when we rescued him. They said that everything stemming from dental is now excluded as a preexisting condition. never pulled his current records or records from the procedure or ER, nor did they look at the fact that our dog had his teeth cleaned three times a year since adopting him and had no signs of any dental disease. So unless you get a perfect dog from the start, which is impossible when resucing a dog, follow the financial experts recommendation and don't get pet insurance. Its only good when you dog gets into an accident. They even had the audacity to wich him well in email and on the phone call today. They didn't realize he had died, even though the claim stated it right up front. I'm sure I'm going to have to call back and make sure they take him off the bill!

Healthy Paws has thus far been nothing but fantastic for me and my family -- reasonable rates for multiple years, quick claim processing, friendly and attentive customer service, and no hassles. Well, I havent reached my large deductible yet but my vets office said everying goes into the Trupanion computer so its a clear channel from my dogs needs to the insurance. hopefully i wont need it much, but it seems seamless.
