Great Pet Insurance
Nationwide was extremely helpful on the phone, and the speed with which they process claims is astounding. I submitted two claims and within 48 hours my checks were cut and in the mail. My only complaint is that I received a “how is your cat feeling after his recent vet visit” email... and the recent vet visit was for his remains to be cremated as he had passed at home. The email was probably in response to the first couple of claims, but the timing was about 24 hours after I submitted my claim for his cremation so it hit me at a bad time.

Claim to pay times are very fast!
I've noticed the claim to pay times have gotten significantly faster -- like that! Nationwide has always been a great experience for us, even through the high cost of losing a pet due to illness. We also like that my employer offers Nationwide and we pay via paycheck deduction. Very cool service.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well Trupanion has treated us as a relatively new customer with an unexpected illness.
I was quite skeptical about pet insurance when my wife strongly suggested that we cover Cavanaugh, our Sheltie-Shepard mix rescue pup. I had a negative bias that I assume emanated from a combination of personal experience and the experiences of friends and family with third-party insurance and “warranty” plans of all ilk. The process of covering Cavi was quite easy – the Trupanion website is first-rate – and the clarity of what I was purchasing and how underwriting and coverage worked gave me some comfort. I also has a sense that I was doing business with a well-run and seemingly well-capitalized company. So, we enrolled Cavi and our coverage became effective 1-30-2020. Along about the third week of March Cavi started throwing up. He had not exhibited such a symptom before. We took him to the veterinarian and started feeding him rice and other digestively gentle foods. The vomiting seems to abate for a time but has continued to return. We are still working with our veterinarian to ascertain the root cause, and we’ve gone from x-rays to lab work (we await yesterday’s results) and from the very first visit Trupanion has stepped up and covered us. We quickly surpassed our $250 deductible, and Trupanion has yet to fail to cover Cavi as we work through this problem. That this happened so early in our relationship with Trupanion, and that they are there taking care of us and giving us the peace of mind that we will not have to make a healthcare decision about Cavi based purely upon financial implications, has brought me around 180 degrees on the efficacy of pet insurance. Our veterinarian recommended Trupanion to us and I’m very glad she did. I did a bit of due diligence with other providers, but ultimately decided to go with her recommendation. I highly recommend Trupanion based upon the way they have treated us as a new customer.

Prompt payment of claims
Prompt payment of claims. I am kept informed of the status of the claim from filling date to payment. Claims are payed within 4-5 days. Explanation of parts of claim not payed clearly stated and conform with the policy. Premium are good and have only increased a little since I took out the policy when he was one he is now seven diagnosed with cancer therefore I have direct experience with the whole process. I would recommend this company.
