Bad insurance - never paid out over deductible!!
If you are interested in paying a bunch of money and hearing sob stories about how the sales agents' dog ate something that cost $7000 , you should get dog insurance. I cancelled Trupanion today after 25 months of insurance at $60 a month with a $200 deductible, totaling a whopping $1500 in payments. If he lives to 15, our total payments to Trupanion would be $10,800. Part of what I received from Trupanion: Notes from Blank Animal Hospital showed signs consistent with this condition. These include ‘check rash on abdomen’ on June X, 201X and ‘moderate-severe puppy dermatitis inguinal and behind axillary region’ on June X, 201X. Because these signs were noted during your 30 day illness waiting period, this portion of the claim can’t be covered. I hope you (Trupanion) enjoyed my money. You won't get another dime. I see why the consumer affairs ratings were so low. If you are considering pet insurance, think long and hard about the deductible. Good luck!
