Trupanion helped Josie get the care she needed to live!
My Cavalier King Charles spaniel became very ill and required a MRI, spinal tap and extensive neck surgery. This was devastating news. She is only one year old. The good news is our puppy is recovering and doing well. Trupanion was there when we needed help with this process. Everyone was so considerate and helpful. The paperwork was easy and our claims were processed very quickly. I highly recommend Trupanion for everyone with a pet. Couldn’t have better!

Nationwide has made filing claims super easy with its telephone app. I really appreciate the easy claims process and getting online updates on claim status. It is a much better process that calling the service center for updates.

Lucy's Liver Shunt journey
My 15 month old Pug started having seizures in January. The vet initially did routine blood work and found her liver enzymes a little high and suggested a Acid Bile test that was about $150 of course we did it. It came back high and the vet thought she might have Liver Shunt that would require surgery if we couldn't control with diet. She recommended seeing a specialist, but until we could get into the specialist she was put on a prescription diet and some medication. Two weeks later she had multiple seizures and we went to the Specialty Hospital. They decided we couldn't wait for her specialist appointment and did a CT scan. The CT scan confirmed 3 liver shunts. Before they could do surgery we would need to use medication to reduce certain levels in her system. She came home on anti-seizsure and a couple other RX's as well as the prescription diet. I reached out to Pet's Best Customer Service to see if this would be a covered benefit or what my annual maximum would be on my policy. I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer and living off of reduced pay. The Customer Service Agent (I wish I knew her name) said she couldn't" guarantee the procedure would be covered but this is the reason you have insurance.". February 14, Lucy had surgery and I am happy to report that today she is off all medication and eats whatever she wants like every Pug! If not for the comforting knowledge that I had Pet's Best I would have had some very difficulty decisions to make. Thank you Pet's Best. Lucy will always have your insurance!

We are very thankful for healthy paws' support so we can focus on our pup's recovery!
Our doggie, Molly, was attacked and severely injured by a dog three weeks ago which resulted in a 2-night stay at the ER and then a week later another 8-night hospital stay for an advanced treatment due to the severity of her injury. Molly’s doctor asked if we had pet insurance because the recommended treatment was expensive and was pleased to hear that we had Healthy Paws, as Healthy Paws allows veterinarians to provide the care and treatments they recommend and would not request less effective procedures just because they are cheaper. Just as Molly’s doctor expected, Healthy Paws was incredibly supportive and processed/approved our claims within a week! They even emailed us to check in and see how Molly was doing. We are so grateful to have Healthy Paws on our side during this difficult time so we can give the most appropriate and effective treatment for Molly and help her recover quickly. We have been with Healthy Paws for five years. We love how Health Paws always treats our pets as one of their own. When our beloved kitty, Mocha, passed away last year, we received a handwritten card from the employees of Healthy Paws. The level of sincerity and care brought great comfort to us as we grieved our loss. We are so thankful for Healthy Paws’ support so we can always be strong for our pets during the most difficult times.

Everyone at Trupanion has been helpful through my dogs diagnosis and treatment. About halfway through the approval/payment process I was able to correspond with the same Trupanion representative and that made everything more comfortable as opposed to speaking with different people every time I had to call or email

Setting the quality standard for medical insurance for pets
I have been a Trupanion client for both of my pets for 8 years. While I haven't used it frequently the times I have used it they do exactly what they say. My last experience was my Weiner dog getting a severe lung infection that required him to be in an oxygen cage for 6 days. The total bill was 11,000 and Trupanion paid just under 10,000 which paid Sam's premiums for about 8 years. Sam was unlucky but made it and we love him so much. All it takes is one emergency, one orthopedic surgery, cancer etc and we as a pet loving family are faced with tough financial choices. For around the cost of a cell phone bill or internet bill you can protect pets who bring so much unconditional love. Its not the cheapest policy but buyer beware. So many pet insurance companies when you actually read the policies have exclusions that Trupanion doesn't. Its not like comparing Allstate or State Farm. Darin Woodinville, WA
