Ten Years 5 Stars--And they still are getting better!
We insured our goldendoodle with Trupanion the day we got him--at 8 weeks old. Their coverage is amazing, premiums worth the price and customer service outstanding. Things have now evolved to the point where my vet can submit my claims online and I get paid directly into my bank account from Trupanion. Yesterday we brought him in at 2PM for blood work and urine tests. This morning I received notification that my claim was approved and fully processed--and I didn't have to do a thing! Trupanion works to achieve a 10% cost above claims payouts and if they do better you end up getting a reduced premium--which happened to us one year. How do you beat all that?!?!? I can't recommend them too highly--they're the best as far as I'm concerned.

Three socks later.
After a sad and expensive experience with a previous puppy , I decided skeptically to try Trupanion. At the start, the folks at Trupanion were helpful and courteous. A few months passed. Then it happened. My new pup ate, not one, not two, but three socks. The third sock required surgery, a couple overnights at the Vet and $$. Afterwards, I brought him home, filed my claim and waited hopefully for a result which brought tears to my eyes when I received it. As I said, at the start Trupanion was helpful and courteous. Well, add ‘a blessing’ to that description. They were available 24/7 for my questions & except for the examination fee, which I knew they did not pay, they covered everything else. I was beyond pleased, so relieved and able to focus on my pup instead of the bills. Thank you Trupanion for the excellent service & laying my skepticism to rest. Pup thanks you too!

Submitted claim for my dog who I…
Submitted claim for my dog who I recently adopted. The claim was for his first vet appointment for a wellness visit and vaccinations. During the exam the vet noticed an ear infection so prescribed medication for that. Pets Best did not reimburse the charge for the exam because they said since they found the ear infection it wasn’t a wellness visit. So if they didn’t find the ear infection they would have reimbursed? That makes no sense. I called to advocate that that charge should be reimbursed. Agent said she would look into it but it seems it should have a non-issue to reimburse the first and only exam my dog has had.

WARNING : Worst Insurance experience
I’ve been an embrace customer for years. When I’ve submitted claims that we’re not covered, the response was quick and done in a timely matter. The latest claims, which we feel were perfectly in line with our coverage, and should hav been accepted are now still being questioned, 3 months after submitting. We’ve been on the phone numerous times, on hold for hours, and only to hear simple complaints that we expect an insurance company to be able to perform themselves. They claim that our vet has not given them all the info they need, but when we talk to the vet it’s a different story. At first we thought it was the Vet’s fault, but having gone to multiple vets, we are now seeing the same excuse. I warn you not to purchase this pet insurance policy, as poor business practice should not be rewarded.
