Healthy Paws has been great for us so far! There claim process is super easy and reimbursement is fast. They even reached out to make sure our fur baby was feeling better after her recent tummy trouble. My human insurance never does that!

Best insurance that you can customize to suit your needs, submitting claims is easy, and they reimburse me within a few days.
They are the absolute best. I switched over to them after bad service and lack of help from nationwide after my dog tore her ccl and had TPLO surgery. Heathy paws allowed me to customize my plan and submitting a claim is super easy on their app. Within a few days I have my reimbursement, sent directly to my banking account and an explanation of coverage. They also emailed to check on Kaiya after seeing a few specialists due to facial paralysis. They’ve made a very stressful time, much less stressful. I could get her the help she needed without stressing over how I’d afford it!

Wow, were we lucky to have insurance.
Wow, has this company been a lifesaver!! We had a dog for a couple of years, without insurance, then got a cat. When the cat began venturing outdoors, it would go on our roof, climb trees, even go out on the tree limbs, etc. I thought that we better get insurance for this crazy cat. While calling Trupanion for insurance, I asked about insuring the dog as well, and proceeded to insure both of them. The cat has never had a problem. But within a few years our dog had an unbelievable series of ailments....red blood cells, tumors, digestion issues, etc. etc. We just had to put him to sleep, at the age of eight. He had two years of one after another ailments. And of course all of the meds, xrays, blood tests... it was a nightmare. Trupanion does not cover everything. They did not cover the actual cost of the exams, prescription foods, and had $500 deductible per ailment (of which our dog had many!!!). But over the two years, the dog had $26,000 of medical expenses. I'm guessing, but due to there being many different deductibles and co-pays, Trupanion paid approximately two-thirds of those costs. That is a huge amount for one pet!!! I would like to note that I am not one of those owners "that would do anything, or pay anything, or keep my pet alive at any cost!" There was never a moment over those two years that would have been a specific event that would have warranted putting him to sleep. It was a slow torture test of many many many events. That being said, I don't know what we would have done without this insurance. I REALLY DON'T. Would I have said when he needed a tumor removed at a cost of $2,500 that I can't afford it, put him to sleep?! That would have been a horrible decision to have to make. Having insurance largely takes that concern off the table. And I can tell you, despite the many $500 deductibles for the numerous ailments that our poor dog had, Trupanion kept on reimbursing for each and every reimbursement claim that we submitted, and for TWO YEARS. They never questioned anything, and handled the claims within 2-3 days each time. Thank you Trupanion!!!

The worst company ever to Insure your…
The worst company ever to Insure your pet with. They love the term PRE-EXISTING.... They will take weeks to dig up the entire history of your pet so they do not pay the bills. Even if your dog in ONLY 10 months old they will say she had a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION.... wow!!

Our pup got his paws on a bouncy ball and suddenly was in urgent need of emergency surgery to remove it. The costs were astronomical to us. Without healthy paws insurance, it would have been a financial struggle to save our beloved pup. We filed our claim from the parking lot and within a few days, we received reimbursement to cover a huge amount of the costs. We will forever be a healthy paws fan!

Healthy Paws gets my strongest recommendation. We enrolled when we got our terrier-mix rescue pup in 2013, and have had enough opportunity to benefit from having the coverage that we can say it’s excellent in every respect: multiple ways to tailor the coverage to your particular needs and wallet; easy claims filing online; clear explanations of what is and isn’t covered; fair pricing for coverage (our premium even went down one year!); speedy direct deposit of benefits to our checking account; responsive customer service when we’ve had questions; easily found information on the website - all of it is superbly well done.
