Healthy Paws is fast, reliable, and friendly
Healthy Paws just paid $894 for Rosie's surgery, 24 hours after I submitted my claim. I'm very pleased. In the time I've been insured with them, their customer service over the phone and by email has always been friendly and efficient. This surgery was their first "test" as to whether they'd cover what I expected them to cover quickly and without hassle, and they've passed that test with flying colors. Because I didn't ever want to face a huge bill for Rosie's care that I couldn't pay, I got insurance through Healthy Paws about three years ago. After doing research, I selected Healthy Paws because they don't raise premiums or reduce benefits because of either advancing age or claim history; your pet's age determines the initial premium and reimbusement rate offered, and they only raise the premium (on the policy anniversary date) in line with increased costs in your area. Also, the annual deductible is just that, annual, not per incident. And there's no maximum payout limit per incident, year, or lifetime. I recommend Healthy Paws.

A little slow but great service
We have been using Pets Best for about 5 years. We havent had any issues or concerns. We recently had a significant event with one of our senior Yorkies where she was hospitalized and later sent to heaven. The hold time to reach a rep was really long and slow (ie 20+ mins every time). The processed the 3 claims within a week with no issues. It all went to the deductible. The signficant hospital claim took over 30 days. Thankfully they did reimburse as expected per the policy with no issues, denials, or requests for further info. I would have given them 5 stars other than the long hold times and slow reimbursement which was a financial strain.

Good supporter and good friend.
Trupanion has been a good supporter for my baby for 10years. Today, I just canceled the policy as my baby had crossed the rainbow bridge...but before leave, I wanted to recommend this good friend. My baby had encountered hardtimes and Trupanion always support me in medical payment. Without this financial help, my baby and I could not stay together this long. Trupanion is the reason my dog is still alive and well
Teddy is almost 8 years old. If it was not for Trupanion, Teddy would not only be in a lot of pain, he may not even be alive. After multiple leg injuries and now I diagnosis of cancer, Trupanion has helped me keep Teddy by my side. I would have had to make some very difficult decisions. However, with Trupanion, I knew that treatment was always an option for whatever Teddy encountered. Knowing what I know now, I will always insure my pet and I recommend everyone else do the same in order to help their own pet, save some money, and better the field of pet care in general.

After an Initial Scare, Trupanion Came Thru
Although we were severely disappointed by Trupanion's initial "coverage proposal" on the pre-authorization for Willow's dental surgery today, and had even begun analyzing the merits of/justification for maintaining this 8+-yr old policy (5 pets to-date), the final coverage outcome was far more appropriate and agreeable. Specifically, the final claim analyst seems to have recognized the ridiculousness of applying multiple "deductions per condition" to different symptoms of the same basic condition (i.e. dental/gum disease), the treatment for which is the same (i.e. extraction). It wouldn't be reasonable to apply multiple conditions deductions for, say, an ill child simply because their illness manifested in both fever, diarrhea, and rash, now would it? Trupanion FINALLY came thru appropriately, as has been our general experience.
