They will only pay 6 months worth of claims before creating obstacles and attempting to deny future claims
We currently have the most expensive My Pet Protection With Wellness Plan at Nationwide. While the first 6 months were seamless with our claims and reimbursement, Nationwide put us in a "pre-denial" stage and began attempting shady business tactics to delay (and deny) potential reimbursement on new claims. For our latest claim, (conveniently at the 7 month mark), the standard requirements for reimbursement changed overnight. Nationwide stated that they need to investigate ALL medical records from every vet, hospital and clinic she's ever visited from date of birth to present day in order to process this new claim. Nationwide already has the all the medical records that the new claim is related to. Now, they want us to backtrack and collect all PREVIOUS medical records in existence (relevant or not) from every single place she's been examined since birth. This is a CLEAR stalling tactic and attempt to deny reimbursement. So while we oblige (and waste time as she has no pre-existing conditions and the plan I pay for does NOT require this process for reimbursement), I'm sure they'll find some vague reasoning to deny it. We'll be leaving Nationwide as soon as we can due to their bullshit tactics to save themselves an extra dollar.

Nationwide pet insurance has been a life saver at this point with our Roxie.
We had rescued a Bulldog Boxer mix a 1 1/2 years ago and she is going to be 3 this November. She has so much energy and after reading up on the breed we had decided to get insurance for her. THANK GOODNESS we did, she has been to the vet multiple times which would have cost us a lot of out of pocket money.

New UnderWriter PRICE JUMP!
Purchased this insurance for my chihuahua and cocker spaniel in 2018. For $10,000 max coverage yearly with $500 deductible covered at 80% it was $61.20 for the Spaniel and $62.90 for the chihuahua. So apparently they have a new underwriter. The new price for the same exact coverage is now $111.96 for the Spaniel and $88.34 for the chihuahua!!! $75.30 more a month!!! A 62% increase!!! Oh and good luck getting them to pay a claim. You have to call in everything and fight every claim. If you don't everything is a pre-existing condition! Buyer BEWARE! Figo is a terrible!

Terrific pet insurance
This was about as easy and straight-forward as it gets. We had an unexpected ER pet visit that was quite costly. We submitted the claim and it was paid promptly. We are really pleased with Nationwide Pet Insurance. Happily, Olive Oyl has recovered well.

Phone reps are phenomenal but reimbursement process is awkward.
Thank you for having great phone support. Your reps are knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. The email notifications were also timely. The only thing confusing is you send emails saying your claim is complete with the amount of your reimbursement. Additionally, when you go to the website to view your account you see that your claim is complete. Since I had previously enrolled to receive my reimbursements via electronic deposit, I feared there was an error with my claim. However - what is omitted from the communication stream is that there are extra steps from your partnership with Chase Bank to complete your reimbursement. I wish the complete process of the claim reimbursement was revealed in the email I received to notify me that my claim had been completed.
