Nationwide is pricey, but they deliver.
Our dog needed expensive radiation treatment for an infiltrative tumor. Nationwide paid it without question. It was great for the dog and us.

Easy Claim Filing - Quick Review and Reimbursement
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been great to work with when I found out our 7.5 year old Golden Retriever has cancer. Filing claims on the site is as simple as dragging and dropping my invoices onto the website. The claims are processed quickly. Due to the nature of the claims, the initial invoices required more extensive medical records for review, but once that was done, each claim after that has not required any additional paperwork. Dealing with our girl's cancer has been tough emotionally, but thankfully, the financial burden has been greatly reduced thanks to Healthy Paws.

They are very inconsistent with their coverage. My dog has cancer and while they are covering most of the treatment there have been several instances where they covered treatment one time but then didn't the next time. He has the same exam and tests done every 3 months per doctor's orders. About 50% of the time I have to file an appeal which usually takes several weeks so there are months between when an appeal is filled and the claim is paid. Thankfully I have money set aside to cover these things but don't expect speedy payouts and don't expect consistency.

We just got the insurance and so far it's great. We had a vet visit the same day our insurance was approved so we were able to file the claim and it went through with no issues.

We had such a great experience..
We had such a great experience with Figo! Our dog tore his CCL (ACL) and required TPLO surgery. His surgery was covered by Figo. We got confirmation that the claim was approved 2 days after I submitted it, and we received the payment 5 days later! Great customer service who answered any questions I had. So thankful we have FIGO!

2 Sets of Claims 2 issues
I have 2 dogs covered by Embrace. The first claim I filed was denied ($5000) and although I didn't agree with their decision, the people were nice and they were recommended by USAA so I didn't fuss much or look for alternatives. I wish I now that I had. I now have a second claim and they will not allow the doctors' fees of $1188 to count towards the deductible, because I financed the charges rather than paying the $1188 upfront during COVID and now they are refusing to apply the charges because they are financed. I've called, the Vet's called to explain but they aren't budging, So now in the middle of Covid, I have had to pay out of pocket $2100 and according to them still have not met my $1000 deductible. The vet said they have never seen an insurance company act like this and don't really know what to do other than cancel my finance agreement and have me pay the balance outright so we can get the coverage. The whole point though is I do not feel i have a trustworthy insurance company that will actually cover catastrophic events as i had wanted them from buying this product. Nice people but do everything they can to not honor claims.

We have been customers of Nationwide since our dog, Radar, joined our family. They have always provided efficient and swift processing of our claims over the years. When Radar had to undergo serious spinal column surgery, I needed to speak with an associate. He was so compassionate and made the process of filing the claim and receiving payment painless, so we could focus on Radar's recovery. I highly recommend Nationwide!
