I heart Trupanion

I cannot say enough good things about Trupanion! They're customer service is knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and helpful. They process claims very quickly, and send emails to let you know the status. Pet insurance with Trupanion is one of the best things I have ever done for our Cat.

I trust VPI to cover many expenses for my pet.

My 6 yr old lab mix had diarrhea. VPI reimbursed 44%. I am glad I have pet insurance.

Pet insurance IS A MUST... but beware...

My dog needed a $10,000 an emergency back surgery. I had been a TRUPANION member for 4 years. I needed preapproval from them before anyone would help my dog. The entire ordeal became totally about money as my dogs nervous system began to slowly give out. First his back legs, then front, loss of tail movement, inability to control bladder and next were his lungs. This happened over a course of 5.5 hours while trupanion decided whether or not his surgery qualified. I KNEW IT QUALIFIED WHEN I CALLED BECAUSE THIS SITUATION WAS THE EXACT REASON I GOT HIM COVERAGE. His breed is prone to back problem as they age and he is 11. Even though I had ALL his medical records from adoption (1.5 years old) till current day on hand and ready to go they still looked for a reason to deny him. They eventually paid $8000 of the $10,000. They claim to pay for 90% of the bill but they find ways to shift as much of the cost onto you as possible. In the end they took a $6500 hit by agreeing to cover my dog (after you add how much I paid in premiums over the years, deductible, etc). They would have made a $3000 profit off of us if my dog had died. I can only assume the 5.5 hour wait for approval occurred for that reason. After agreeing to fulfill their end of the deal we both signed for, their rep threatened recourse if they later find a preexisting condition that could have led to the surgery. Then he promised my next claim would require more health history proof making my next claim even more stressful. So I'd love to say thank you for saving my dogs life to trupanion... I'd also like to say that should any of their children be put in a similar situation that their health insurance provider show more respect, compassion and effort than they showed us. PUT PLEASE I URGE YOU TO CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE TO PROTECT YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!! I wish I had.

Such a relief to have pet insurance!

We have been so pleased with the pet insurance! Skeetee has had a rather difficult medical background, and the insurance was very helpful in offsetting some of those expenses. Wouldn't be without it, and the processing did not go on forever too.

Nice, quick & exactly what they say they are

The staff is very nice & understanding during your event. They are quick to get answers & quick to pay their bills. They are exactly what they sy they are & do exactly that. Though we were in a panic when our little man got sick they assured us they were going to take care of it with the vet's office. It was simple & we are so glad we have this insurance.

Wouldn't Be Without Embrace!

My Sadie is a 4 1/2 year old German Shepherd Dog with health problems which have cost a lot of money. Without Embrace Pet Insurance, I don't know how I could have kept up with her ongoing care. Embrace has been fantastic - they are in constant communication with me regarding Sadie's many vet visits. Their direct deposit into my checking account is quick and their Explanation of Benefits is so easy to read. Thanks, Embrace!

Thankful we decided on pet insurance from ASPCA!

We rescued Ziggy 3 years ago and being unsure of his history decided to get pet insurance. After asking around and doing some research online we felt ASPCA offered what we needed at a reasonable premium. After Ziggy was all cleaned up and vetted we noticed he had some skin issues(scratching, scabs), weepy eyes and reverse sneezing so we brought him to our vet who said he has allergies. He gave us recommendations and a couple of prescription medications, including a special shampoo. It helped, some, but he was still suffering from itching and ear infections so our vet recommended allergy testing. Well, our poor dog was allergic to so many things that now we try to avoid and we're happy to report that he's doing so much better with controlling his allergies. Unfortunately, we recently almost lost him to sudden onset diabetes. That is now under control with 2x/day injections of insulin, but then he suddenly lost his sight. We are looking into getting his eyes restored and we don't know how we would have paid for all of Ziggy's great care had it not been for having ASPCA pet insurance!! Submitting claims and receiving reimbursements have been so easy. We were touched by the personal phone calls from ASPCA inquiring about Ziggy's health. Shelly was especially thoughtful and kind with her heartfelt sympathies regarding Ziggy and all that we are going through dealing with his diabetes and blindness. She knew what it was to go through this with our lovely, furry kid! We foster rescues as our way to give back for all the love our dogs have given us and recommend that our adopters get ASPCA pet insurance for the love of their new family member! Even in my business, all my patients know I foster and have an ill dog, so I recommend ASPCA to my animal owners, as well.
