First call! Best service!
This is my first need to contact Trupanion. Can't believe how helpful she was (Audrey? sorry...meant to write it down). Business taken care of promptly & efficiently. Discovered your website, as well. HOORAY! Had no idea you were 24/7 which is FANTASTIC! And, my pup lost his Trupanion tag so replacement on order. Had no idea how user friendly you are. Now I know why my vet recommended you to me so many years ago! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I chose Embrace pet ins. for my dog several years ago and I am very satisfied with my decision.
I would recommend Embrace to anyone looking for insurance for their pet. Great company to deal with. Quick turn around times and great coverage.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Do yourself a favor and take whatever your monthly premium is and save it in your own account to use in the event of an issue with your pet. Trupanion will deny whatever they can to avoid reimbursing you. After having a policy for over 3 years on my dog, my claim was denied stating a preexisting condition. Despite an appeal by my veterinarian stating that this preexisting condition cannot be solely blamed on the need for correction of this new issue, the claim was still denied. My dog has patella luxation which they are stating caused her tear in her cruciate ligament which required surgery. Although that can certainly be a predisposition per their documentation, it is not always causative and dogs without luxation can tear ligaments. Their is no proof to state that one problem is the cause of the other. In fact literature states both that “a dog can experience years of normal ‘wear and tear,’ which can leave the ligament weak and prone to full rupture” and that “ligament ruptures as a result of long-term degeneration, whereby the fibers within the ligament weaken over time”. Trupanion will simply reply with a stock response that states “we understand the result is not the outcome you hoped for” while lacking compassion and individualized case-by-case evaluations. Beware of the laundry list of limitations they have to ensure a way for them to deny a claim. I wish I had read reviews before I obtained the policy. I can assure you I will never recommend trupanion.

Excellent Service and Great Policy
I found the whole process, from gathering the information from Tammy, to reading the information on your website, then contacting Tammy to be super easy. Tammy was excellent in explaining how the policy works and was patient in answering all of my questions. This was an easy decision to enroll and protect my new puppy! Thank you.

Worse experience I have ever had
I have a healthy dog who is 8 years old. She recently went to the hospital for bloody stool, diarrhea, and excessive dry heaving. Similar symptoms to a blockage in her intestines.. it was very scary as she is normally a very healthy happy pup. Thank goodness- there were no serious issues. She had a bunch of tests ran and the vet bill was approximately $1000.00. The claim was denied because my dog had gone to the vet for throwing up and having diarrhea in the past (not to mention she wasn't throwing up- she was excessively dry heaving this time). EMBRACE claims that having diarrhea is a preexisting condition-- I disagree- it is a symptom of being ill which is why you take your dog to the vet. She was given an actual diagnosis of Acute Gastroenteristis. She was given a clean bill of health from all blood tests and x-rays. Yet- they will not reimburse. I am dropping the insurance and completely disappointed in the experience. It feels very fraudulent. I warn anyone who thinks dog insurance is a good idea- it is not. They take your money and give you nothing.

Spot insurance is a special business…
Spot insurance is a special business that does not have good intentions. My dog had a undiagnosed condition that they are calling a preexisting condition and are now denying claims. My Insurance started February 22 and the undianosed condition was supposedly December 1 after the dog went in for her shots and check up. In February we decided it would be good to have the pet ins as the dog was getting older. March 12 the dog went in because we thought she may have developed a thyroid disease. After a day of blood tests they dianosed her with Cushing's disease. What is written in a pets medical records and not revealed to the pet owners is a good reason not to get a policy from Spot Ins. They will not pay claims on undianosed conditions or for them what they claim is something was already preexisting conditions. i have cancelled the Ins after two payments asked for reimbursement a little after 30 days and they gave me the middle finger.

ER Room Decision made easy
I’m on my third dog. My first two we didn’t have insurance. We decided this time around to save a rescue and part of the agreement was to have pet insurance for the first month. We did so with the intention of canceling within the 30 day agreement. Of course time went in and I forgot. My rescue Stella ended up eating something that was lodged in her intestine. ER doctors said surgery was necessary at a cost of 4500-8000. This was not an expense we could afford. Not knowing what Trupanion would cover we called. To our amazement we were able to cover the cost knowing Trupanion was there to help. Stella is doing great thanks to a hard decision being an easy one. Thank You Theriault Family

I've been with Trupanion for 20+ years
Trupanion is currently insuring my third dog since I've been their customer. The service is great, the people who work there have always been helpful. It has become much more expensive in the past couple of years, which I am not pleased about.

Getting pet insurance for my Old…
Getting pet insurance for my Old English Bulldog was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Choosing Trupanion was my 2nd best decision! I've spoken to customer service many times and they are always super nice and very helpful. They make filing claims real easy too. My pup has been suffering from severe allergies since he was a year old :( and with so many unexpected vet bills, Trupanion has made it a lot easier for me to give him the care he truly needs. Thank you:)
