I had the best experience on the phone with a customer service agent named Sarah. I called with a difficult situation and she was absolutely wonderful. By the end of the conversation I thought she should run the company.

They are a scam! Every year they raise my premiums, but 50% increase is ridiculous! 150.00 a month!!!!!! And I’ve been with them since 2013.

I have a new dog and my vet’s office recommended 3 insurance companies. I called each of them and found Trupanion had the best plan for me. the staff was professional, polite, and answered all of my questions. they signed me up on the phone. so far, so good. I hope the good service continues for years to come.

Reimbursement takes a month or so
While the cost is low and benefits are good the reimbursement wait time is far too long. The whole point of getting coverage is to help with vet costs. It really puts the customer out of commission with finances especially if said customer relies on a once month paycheck from disability.

Hidden fees; Per issue deductible not worth it.
We received a first month free of Trupanion from the rescue we adopted from, after the month was over we were charged a number of hidden fees we did not agree to when originally signing up. The monthly fee was significantly more than we could afford or agreed to; and significantly more than competitors! The $250 deductible is also less helpful than advertised; we have yet to hit the deductible for any of the 3 issues our dog has had, yet we have spent over $600 in vet bills.
