This is the best company I have ever dealt with.

I wanted to share the great success that we have had with our HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE for our nearly 3 yr-old Great Dane Tank our 10 month-old Basset Hound, Chubbers. Although Tank is not quite 3 yrs-old, he has had two neuro-surgeries, a broken tail which resulted in an infection and eventual amputation, the removal of his anal glands (due to a likely related infection) and various other more minor problems. Although he is very healthy today, these surgeries have cost in excess of $35,000. Our little Chubbers (who likes to eat things and get obstructed) has had two surgeries and other expenses exceeding $12,000. For all of these problems we have paid a total of 10%. The insurance has been INCREDIBLE. We pay a monthly rate that is based on zip code and breed (we are in a very expensive area and Danes are obviously one of the most expensive breeds) of about $100 month (by comparison our basset hound is about $50 a month) and then we pay a $250 per year deductible. Once that deductible is reached, Healthy Paws pays 90% of any costs. The only things they don't cover are the veterinary examinations, elective surgeries like spay and neutering or stomach tacking (unless medically necessary-for instance if they have bloated before) and hips until the dogs are 18 months of age. Unlike many other pet insurance companies, there are no breed excluded conditions, no lifetime caps on the policy and you pick the veterinarian where your dog is treated. The surgeries on Tank and Chubbers have been incredibly expensive and Healthy Paws has never challenged one penny of any bill. My wife, who is a reconstructive pediatric plastic surgeon, has commented that the insurance companies she has to work with in human medical care are not this easy to deal with, nor this prompt with payment. The claims have always been paid within a week of filing. The only issue is that you need to be aware of is that they will not cover preexisting conditions, so you should get the policy as soon as you bring your puppy home. I am writing this review because this insurance has been such an incredible benefit for our family. I have no affiliation with the company, I do not own any stock, I am just a customer who has been incredibly impressed with this company. This insurance is a great idea for any pet owner and a MUST for any Dane owner.

The best company for fur babies!

What a great company! Fast service and they truly care about their customers! Our baby girl, Hope, does a lot of camping and fishing with us so having her insured puts our minds at ease. On our last trip she took a swim in the river and came out limping with glass shards in her poor little paws. We rushed her to the vet (she had to stay overnight for observation), I printed out the claim form, gave it to the veterinary staff to fill out, they submitted it and that same day Embrace processed the claim and let me know the next day that our claim payment would be coming in the mail (we had already met our deductible for the year). Great service, I couldn't ask for a better insurance company for my baby!

Great

My experience so far has been great. I have only had it for about 6 months. I used it for the first time 3 weeks ago. It took About 3 days to get my claims processed. A week later, I had all my money back! I highly recommend this insurance! I will write again when I get the last check back.

Petshealth is awesome!

I can't recommend Pethealth Insurance enough! They are so kind and caring about our dogs, and the claims I have filed have been reimbursed timely. All representatives that I have dealt with have great customer service and I truly am glad that both of my dogs are covered by them.

Money well spent!

We got pet insurance when we adopted our rescue dog over seven years ago after friends had recommended it. (They had a dog with two broken legs on Christmas Eve whose name became "honeymoon.") I love Embrace! The customer service has always been exceptional and incredibly prompt. We utilize the wellness policy and thankfully have never had a major issue to file a claim for besides that. My vet fills out the form and is kind enough to fax it and I always hear back from Embrace the same day. My dog was just in on Tuesday morning (today is Thursday) and I just got an email that my claim was approved and filed. My wellness money will be sent right away (think of it as an FSA except you pay less up front than you spend). I get a prompt response any time I email back with questions on my policy, any increase in charges or to make any changes and to verify claims information. They are absolutely wonderful and take a lot of stress out of dog ownership!

Works like it should!

We adopted our dog and she came with embrace. I had always been hesitant about pet insurance and decided to give it a try since she had always had it and her prior owner raved about it. Our beagle has diabetes and while it is very well managed she does have some expenses come up. Embrace works better then any insurance I've ever used. From health to vision, renters to airplane Embrace is hands down the best. They are quick to process and send email updates along the way, cover what they say they are going to cover and are EXTREMELY pleasent on the phone. Though I've only called them once when transferring the insurance over to us. That's how easy the claim submission is, fill it out and fax or email it in and done. Now if they would just cover humans I'd be all set!

Bilateral Cherry eye- not covered

I did my homework, research asked questions sat on the "buy" button for months then my English Bulldog developed her first cherry eye before I hit the buy button. At that time she was young and mischievous and started chewing on a wooden basket she wound up poking her eye and needing an emergency cornea transplant. When I called Trupanion, I explained that she already had an expensive cherry eye/cornea transplant surgery ($6000). I was scared to go through that again with no insurance. The nice sales person told me that with the insurance I will have a piece of mind knowing that my Lilly would be taken care of.....? Clearly she didn't mean that my new Trupanion insurance policy would take care of her. Here we are months later and close to $1000 in insurance policy payments, with no return on the 5 claims we had including cherry eye on the other eye, sick appointments, and spayed. So I have spent close to $10000 on these appointments and $1000 on non existing insurance..... I wish I had seen this site when I was researching because I am paying the price. I could have put that $1000 towards her bills. Someone mentioned putting that money into a savings account for vet bills. That sounds like a great idea!

They're like family

Healthy Paws is amazing! From answering all my questions and making the claim process effortless to even checking in on my pup after his surgery they have been kind and helpful. It doesn't even feel like an insurance company. I would highly recommend them to any pet owner!
